Haha, I just tried steve nash today, and overall, it was a pretty shitty experience. Movin from golds to steve nash is a pretty sharp turn..
Pros: Spacious changeroom and tons of benches, front lounge area was pretty clean, not too sure about the rates but I've heard that it isn't too expensive, alot of cardio equipment and a good variety too
Cons: Parking was a pain (no wonder they need a valet service), Manager wasn't very informative (did a half-assed job of introducing me to the gym), got people dropping weights everywhere, crowded as fuck, messy as fuck, and tons of heatscore douchebags that don't know how to workout for shit. I recall seeing a guy attempt to do a bicep curl with 70lb dumbbells while lieing on a decline bench.

I should really start goin on a 5x5 if i want to reach my goal of 3 plates...

I'm loosely following the maximum over training program. Was inspired and motivated by watching the DVD "I want to look like that guy"

Works best if you have a workout partner.

The program isn't for everyone but definitely works when applied correctly.

I'm gonna stop the program pretty soon and focus on shedding that layer of fat that's covering up my abs.

One of my work out partners is 5'5" weighing in at 130lbs, he was only able to bench 185lb, but it's jumped up to 225lb after applying the Max OT program.

I had the opportunity to upgrade my fitness world membership to have access to the steve nash gyms, but I declined for the exact same reasons.
I personally don't like their flat benches, find it a bit high for my liking.
And parking is a joke.

Holy shit man, 225 lb bench press at 130 lb is godly... And yeah, it'd be good to get the cut goin for the summer...

right now, I'm trying to bulk and cut at the same time, so weights only upping ever so slightly... I like it better this way though cus everything stays consistent and I don't get too much beer gut

btw if you're looking for a good cut, i really recommend you go for a hypertrophy routine, where its 75% of your 1RM for 10 reps. You'll really feel the pump and itll make everything alot more defined. Cardio will also be your best friend..

I have been stuck on 3.5 plates forever! What did you do to break a plateau? (Well, if you ever experienced one!)

Try using chalk, it does wonders compared to gloves or straps.

BinsentoW 06-20-2012 11:24 PM

Working on ladders tomorrow is gonna suck.

Where can one buy chalk? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

To be honest I don't have a clue, one of my gym buddy's brought over a brick of that stuff and tried it for myself.

Got mine from Mountain Equipment Co-op.

It's cheap and definitely worth the few bux, especially if the barbells at your gym have crappy knurling.

Got mine over at Sportchek/Atmosphere. They give it to you in a nice little package where the chalk is packed in a pouch, haha...

Used by climbers but its all the same.

Just googled this and their warehouse is 4km from my place. But their retail store is all the way on Broadway. :okay:

I'll be sure to grab some when I'm around the area. Or if anyone else knows where else to get them?

red_sir 06-21-2012 12:19 AM

I actually got it off their website because I was that lazy.

Since we're all posting pics... here's me in April at about 175lbs. Went on vacation for 6 weeks and now I'm 4-5lbs heavier and a little fatter all over. :okay:
Squats and deadlifts have gone up though which makes getting a little chubbier not so bad.

hal0g0dv2 06-21-2012 07:27 AM

Solid build
Shoulder trap ratio is good and tricep is good
Keep it up
