I'm sorry that me doing deadlifts disturbed your workout that you had to say something to me right after I finished a set.

I bet its unusual to see a guy that's not in highschool be able to lift as much as me and do the exercise properly.

But I'm glad that you offered a suggestion to me that I was disturbing "everyone" in the gym because of I was doing my exercise right.

I'm aware that there is no dropping the weight policy. But I'm also aware that I don't want to destroy my back because me lifting as much as I did and dropping the weight to a dead position was too much on your fat fragile ears.

Love

Douchebag Gymrat.

On a serious note, I snapped at her because I told her to not speak for everyone at the gym and that there are no pillows available to drop my weights on, and that I didn't want to hurt my back and if she thinks im breaking some gym rule to call the fucking attendant (who then told her I was doing the deadlift right). South arm doesn't have any platforms I can use, Plus it was literally right after a set and I was full of testosterone.

I can't wait till my membership expires so I can go back to the oval.

Lol! Sounds like she needs to mind her own business and worry about herself.
I was doing deadlifts at South Arm today too since Thompson was closed. Maybe the sudden influx of people deadlifting there drove her crazy.

fuck that shit, if you think you fail then you fail.

you'll get that or else you're a phaggot

Spoiler!

Also broke a PR today, power cleaned 1 plate and overhead pressed it for 3 reps. Slowly regaining push strength back :concentrate:
Feel like power clean -> overhead press allows me to push more than just unracking it straight.

hey bro how does the set feel compared to if u get it off a rack? i couldnt past a 35+5 but i felt the clean at the beginning used alot of energy (gym has no rack) going to be switching gyms in a bout a month to 1 with a rack

Absolutely. One has to clearly imagine the lift in the mind repeatedly and have total confidence when actually doing it.

When someone fails a lift it may subconsciously set them back and lower their confidence. Furthermore, failing a lift may be detrimental to one's actual progress.

Do it right the first time.

When I get it off the rack I feel like it gives me time to start second guessing myself and then feel the heaviness of the weight. After that I just find it hard to accelerate the weight upward to start the press.
With that being said, I know what you mean about the clean using a lot of energy at the beginning but I get a rush of testosterone when I clean it lol. Dat psychological mind trick :|

J.C 08-15-2012 09:03 PM

tried hook grip deadlifts for the first time, not bad.
haven't gone heavy yet with it, i'll try it next day on 280

sonick 08-15-2012 09:05 PM

Dunno what it was, but felt AWESOME today for chest and DL. Hit a PB of 2 plates a side for bench for reps. Itching to go again tomorrow and rock the shoulders.

Switch with me at the oval. You know what they are doing at thompson anyways?

My buddy that worksout at south arm is deadlifting 5 plates.

Shits crazy.

red_sir 08-16-2012 12:14 AM

I really want to switch to the Oval, but it's hard to leave Thompson when it's only $260/year.
Not sure what they are doing, but when I dropped by they had moved a lot of the machines out into the hallway. Maybe maintenance? I hope we get some new stuff. They spent a lot of money on those cool treadmills, but wish they would spend some $ on more weights!

XplicitLuder 08-16-2012 12:26 AM

BrRsn 08-16-2012 02:19 AM

I am the same way. I can press 135lbs 3x5 with a clean but can't press worth a damn if I pull it off the rack. The power clean does take energy but it's worth it.

Meowjin 08-16-2012 11:38 AM

Hey guys odd question.

Is there a correlation between working out and having your morning piss be super dark yellow?

You aren't drinking enough water. It's all diet that affects the colour of your urine.

Weightlifting > Bodybuilding?

strykn 08-16-2012 02:33 PM
