Jumped onboard the AMSoil bandwagon and switched the bike from Motul to AMSoil 10w40 full synthetic.

ive used it, 8600rpm daily in a 15 year old car, you could eat off the inside of my valve cover.
if my new car didnt burn so much oil id use it still

RRxtar 02-13-2008 04:57 PM

got a baseline run done on the dyno today. then came home and took it apart

ever think about drag racing that hunk of slow mike?
and i was serious about the honja parts thing, if you find any parts you like, hit me with a P# and i might be able to hook you up on it

RRxtar 02-13-2008 09:41 PM

i really havent had any overwhelming urge to drag race it no. it would be interesting to try i guess.

the thing is too, in 4 or 5 years of riding, ive never once launched my bike with any sort of exertion. i do tons of 1st gear roll ons and stuff, but never really launched from a stop.

jeffh 02-13-2008 09:53 PM

id imagine there is abit more to launching a bike then launching a car, but i bet its one hell of a rush! :D

RRxtar 02-14-2008 08:57 AM

maybe ill give it a couple runs at ashcroft this year for kicks. i should be just under the revlimiter in 6th at the end of the 1/4 with my gearing based on stock RR trap speeds.

SmokeyTheBandit 02-15-2008 09:00 PM

when i first bought my r1 it needed a new clutch so i practiced launching a fair bit with it before i replaced it

its a different world on 2 wheels. and unless you know the 1 wheel feeling it can be pretty gut wrenching.

i am by no means a wheelie guy, i could never do them, only on the track in spokane over the crest and dip after you take the first left hander after the straight.

i am just thankful my launches didnt turn into a drifting burn out fest... ive see high sides at low speeds with an attempted launch.

anyways... why am i talking, i dont have a bike anymore :(

ps: to stay on topic i got a ladder rack put on my van and winter tires.

Dirt Rider 02-16-2008 08:08 AM

quick 2 cents on launching a sportbike... i didnt try too much on my R6.. but on the Honda i ran a bunch of times at the local 1/8th... u either had not enough traction. or the front end was up through 1st.... ended up having everythign to do with clutch controle.. and body positioning..

Tchleung 02-17-2008 07:00 PM

Modded the bimmer into summer mode

jeffh 02-18-2008 10:39 AM

rear wiper delete, 7 lbs maybe? and rear tint removal -10 gay points

Big Daddy 02-18-2008 05:39 PM

Wired in park brake warning light and high beam indicator light, changed turn signal indicators to regular green LED from hyper blue...

fourtirefire 02-19-2008 12:24 AM

Mod of a couple days ago, re-wired my HID's with a relay direct to battery power, they seem to light up more often in cold weather now, but still cause aggrivation when it's any more than -5. Oh and threw in a front strut tower bar that I scored for free.

Big Daddy 02-22-2008 06:17 PM

Bolted in my seats properly...cut off two of the mounts and had a buddy re-weld them in different spots, then bolted her down nice and snug with my freshly cut 2" washers that I cut from a sheet of 1/4" steel...

Tomorrow I pull steering knuckles/hubs/axles from my parts truck and hopefully monday I put them into my truck and get it passed inspection

zumvette 02-22-2008 11:47 PM

Modded a newer truck into the driveway yesterday.
2005 Dodge quad cab, cummins, slt almost full load just missing leather, short box, spray in liner, fender flares, command start, etc...
