quick question, I phoned Rogers to discuss options on my plan, long story short, I think rogers screwed up but to my benefit. So my question is, once they give you a confirmation number and closed the notes, does that mean whatever they did can't be undone?
Thanks

If you accepted the plan, they can try to reneg on it but if they do, you can escalate to the office of the President

No direct number. You have to call reg csr number and choose cancel for option or tell them you want retentions

This was their direct number as of 4 months ago 1 866-373-5580. Got it from a buddy who works at wireless wave. I was using it back in February and it was good then

I used to pay $72 for 200 minutes and 6 gigs of data

Now i pay $56

I'm not a government worker and I pay less than that for roughly the same features. As shitty as it sounds you have to work for a better plan. Nobody is going to just hand it to you. Read the thread on RFD.

From the RFD thread

This is NO longer available (in BC at least) as it was "sold out" within a few days of the ad being mass emailed. I spoke to the rogers corp manager (BC) and he said they had a quota that was filled up quickly. the BB credit on the other hand did not have a quota (probably something Bb might be subsidizing?!?) That's why I only posted the BB $300 credit.
can anyone confirm or have tried and was successful at switching within the past day or so?

Renthal 06-17-2013 06:00 PM

i got it today and it was no problem, reps were super nice and there was no bs at all. I had a buddy call and he got it too! He got a flirty rep and she said she would call back later to see how he liked his new plan?

went from 73 per month with 1 gig to 56 with 5 gigs!

SB7 06-17-2013 06:12 PM

My dad's plan just expired for Rogers and he's looking to get into another 3 year plan... He doesn't want the phone so he will probably just give it to me if I pay the diff.

My question is: To sign up for Rogers? Or to go with another 3 year plan from a different carrier? I'm gonna do some more research on current promotions, and other stuff, but if anyone wants to give me a heads up on good deals that would be awesome!

If there's not thread on 'Cell Phone Plan Deals/promotions' i'll create one later on!

do you know if the 5gb is LTE?

and as stupid as this sounds, i'm having a brain fart right now. if don't do a HUP and resign for 3 years, do i have to wait again before i am eligible for a HUP?

mc. 06-17-2013 06:41 PM

Did you guys have to renew your plan for 3 years or did they just change your plan?
Posted via RS Mobile

Renthal 06-17-2013 07:49 PM

It is 5GB LTE.
I did not do a HUP so my contract was just modified and I did not have to sign a new 3 year term.
as soon as I go and use my HUP and get an S4 I have to get a 3 year term.

SoNaRWaVe 06-17-2013 08:44 PM

thanks a bunch!!! i will call tomorrow. what sort of info did they ask for in regards to workplace?

Renthal 06-17-2013 08:49 PM

I called, got transferred to the business department.. then said I work for a local municipality and was not sure if I qualified. She looked it up and said that I was good to go.
I then gave them an employee number off of my paycheck and that was it.

ask for an interaction number when you are done talking to them.. that way there is a history of your call with them and they cant screw you around later by saying you agreed to shit that you didnt.

Since it was middle of the month the ended my old contract today and started the new one tomorrow, so they may be able to do that for you.

if you are still having problems, PM me

i got referred to a Rogers agent who works in Burnaby at Highgate Mall that took care of it all for me

jeedee 06-19-2013 05:51 PM

Called into Retentions today and asked about my cancellation fee. Only had like 3 months left apparently = $125 to cancel.

Got offered:
1GB LTE Data
Unlimited text
unlimited calling
caller id
voicemail
= $56 after taxes

Also eligible for a hardware upgrade.

Question is; is there any better plans/offers at the moment by other companies? Not looking to pay more than $45 a month for a similar plan like that.

Gonna call back tomorrow.

Highly doubt you can get that for $45 a month. but you should be getting 2GB rather than 1 though.

jeedee 06-19-2013 06:26 PM

Yeah just seeing what my options are with other carriers.

Originally got offered the same plan for $62 but with 2GB, but told the guy i didn't really need that much data.

I'll try again tomorrow. Was reading tomatogunk's plan but 6GB is way too much :lol

Cassijon 06-19-2013 10:41 PM

my retentions plan is:

unlimited canada wide calling/text
iphone value pack
3 GB data

$60 + tax.

retentions is still offering this as of last week (my friend got it after referencing my plan). might be luck of the draw, on which agent you get though.

Good luck

Gh0stRider 06-20-2013 10:14 AM

gonna try for the gov't plan.

but i got my own phone and the new phone i want isn't released yet.

can i do a HUP afterwards or should i just get a new device and sell it?

Renthal 06-20-2013 11:24 AM

U can do a hup later.. U don't have to sign a new contract usually when you switch to a new plan.
They told me I start a new contract when I use my hup.
