As far as I know, as long as you don't renew or sign a new contract when you go on M2M after your contract expires, your plan will not change. If you want to get a device at discounted price, you have to get rid of your current plan, whether it's a shitty one or a good one. They're trying to move everyone onto their ripoff plans.

I was offered $80 for 2GB, that's $20 more than my current plan.

$20 * 24 = $480 + $100 for phone = $580. I want the Galaxy S5, and it will be $700+. I would save $120 if I renew, but my plan will be downgraded...

Give up 6gb and save $120... lol.

TOS'd 08-09-2014 07:13 PM

But im sure somewhere in their policy they are allowed to discontinue and force people to change plans..

Of course they have the power to do so but never have I heard Rogers attempt to force customers to change plans. They can increase your monthly payments though with given notice. Either way, it's still better than their current share everything plan.

Rogers customers with the grandfathered $30 6GB Data Add-On will see a $5/month increase starting in August | MobileSyrup.com

SoNaRWaVe 08-10-2014 04:48 AM

didn't they try to do something similar like this a while back and there was a huge outcry against it and they dropped the price increase?

quasi 08-12-2014 12:06 PM

Not nearly as good as some of the deals posted here but my wife added another phone on her corporate plan, no contract on this one for me but I'm buying phone outright. I actually picked up a S5 yesterday on Wind but I'm not getting service in my office so that will be going back after work and I'll get an S5 outright through Rogers for $80 more then Winds Wintab price but owned outright which is a sick deal IMO.

$50.00+ service fees and crap

6gb data
250 Outgoing
250 Incoming
unlimited rogers to rogers calling
unlimited evening and weekends starting at 6pm
unlimited text
caller id
voicemail

Gucci Mane 08-12-2014 12:30 PM

wow thats a pretty sick plan. worth staying with rogers for sure!

Cassijon 08-12-2014 01:22 PM

i wish rogers offered subsidized ipads like telus does.

quasi 08-12-2014 04:26 PM

My wifes corporate plan is really good, the one she got me sucks in comparison. :)

$44.00 --> works out to $49.xx after taxes and fees

6 Gigs of data
1000 anytime minutes
350 weekday minutes
unlimited after 6 and weekends
250 Canada Long Distance
Free Rogers to Rogers
Voice Mail
Caller ID

You're getting it for $659 at rogers? Rogers site lists $699.

Do you mean add another phone and share the plan? That might have been possible but I wanted my own data. They never offered me the same plan as her, I also was adamant I did not want a contract on my line so I can leave anytime. If I signed one I'm not sure if I could get the same plan or not.

I was told less then that, returned my Wind phone last night so once I have the new phone in hand I'll let you know what I actually paid I'm grabbing it tonight or tomorrow.

^

$550 + $10 for sim card for the Samsung S5 no contract, limited colors Gold or Gray. Wind Charged me $479 (no charge for sim) and I still had a wintab of $250. Pay an extra $81.00 and own it outright, worth it IMO.

Why they list it at $699 is what got me curious. Gonna go check it out myself.

It's through my wifes corporate plan, I don't know for sure but I don't know if you can walk in off the street and get the same deal.

If it is billing by the second after the first minute, then it isn't too bad.
This way you get a true 350 daytime minutes.

What company plan is this?

not share the plan, but to have the exact same plan on your own line and she has her own plan on her own line.

incubus 08-21-2014 07:17 AM

theres a promo at costco for a 75$ credit upgrade basically paid 100 for my s5 upgrade

Maybe if I signed a contract, I did not want a contract and wanted to buy my phone outright. The deal she got me was the best they could do for me at the time.

Hondaracer 08-21-2014 07:52 PM

fuckin rogers phones me starting off telling me i'm a "preferred customer" as i've been with this number since 04, he then tells me he's going to look into savings on my plan

he hums and haws for a second then he goes into this spiel about the "shared" plan basically saying 8 gigs data, unlimited nation wide toll-free calling, unlimited text messages, all caller ID etc. for $110 a month for 1 phone, then another $50 for any additional smart phone

so 110 + 50 + taxes

essentially 180 all in, right now i'm paying $76 for basically the same thing, but 6 gigs and limited call time. I tell him how does this help me other than being a burden in having to find somone to share a contact AND pay more cause i have 2 more gigs?

I said save me money on my fucking plan not offer me a plan where i need to find other people to share it.. he basically ubruptly goes into his end speach saying it's there if i want it and call back later. Fuck Rogers

saucywoman 08-22-2014 06:49 PM

^^ rogers is giving me the impression they don't care about us "long tenured" customers. My credits all expired, and when I called in there's nothing they can do or add more. I was told the plan I have now (6gb, 200 mins, my10, etc) is awesome and even their new plans wouldn't compare to that and I'd be paying more but for less :(

My plan is :
6GB Super Plan
200 Weekday Minutes
Unlimited Eve & Wknd Minutes
6pm Early Evening Calling

Included with My Plan
MY10 Canada-wide Talk & Text
Ringback Service
Messaging Bundle Unlimited
LTE 6GB BB Shared Data
Call Forwarding/Call Transfer
Van./Vic. Rate Following
Billed Usage-Invoice Details

and then the value pack for like $13. So I'm looking at like $84 after tax :(

Hondaracer 08-22-2014 08:46 PM

thats basically my exact situation i went from paying $65.XX with my credits 2 years ago to now creeping up to around $75-80

Mr.HappySilp 08-22-2014 09:21 PM

Rogers don't care about you guys becasue the plan you guys have right now isn't worth for them to keep you guys as a customers.

Remember all plans are now 2 years only and they actually make more money offering you guys their new plan than to keep you on your current plan.

SoNaRWaVe 08-23-2014 01:37 AM

even before the whole policy change to 2 years, they never did cared. i was with them for 10+ years and all they could do for me was give me $5 credit per line. this was before the change.

and as i have stated before, you think your plans are expensive now but keep em. and just buy your phone out right. no new plans that they offer for you will be any better and/or cheaper. just save up and buy your phone outright.

saucywoman 08-23-2014 08:22 AM

Maybe it's time for all us Rogers customers to port their numbers over to wind? Lol

No lte. So like sonarwave said, better to buy phone outright.
