I think that is pure bull. I am on the exact same plan but there was a voice only option as well. If it was a crtc law, then why would Rogers advertise a voice only plan. Or what if my contract runs out on a droid or iPhone, does that mean I am forced to resign a data plan? You should call again. Unless rules have changed in the last few months. Posted via RS Mobile |
^i was talking to this guy in the rogers store, but yeah he was probably bullshieting, i know that rogers is not going to give out a $800 phone, how can they make $ back on a measly $20/mth plan right? but it's probably not a crtc law, just wanted to confirm with you guys. are you on 3 year? |

Has anyone else tried calling the business/corporate retentions? I called them today and was told that they could not give any discounts on the corporate plans. Especially the $50 plan. I was trying to renew my credit on my data. He said that all the plans have gone up in price just like the regular consumer plans. So if I only want to renew for 2 years, my current $50 plan goes up to at least $60 but now the calling is unlimited Canada wide. I do have the option to sign up for 3 years at the same price though. Which is most likely what I will end up doing. |
so if i want to HUP and renew my contract (which expired on oct. 2) i will have to either pay $70 for 2 year and a more expensive phone, or pay $50 for 3 year for a cheaper phone? |

Yes I know the choice sounds obvious. That's why I'm wondering if anyone else has spoken to the corporate retentions to see what options they were given |
hrm, i would need to call it in and find out. when i get around to it, i'll post back here. i am also on that $50 corp plan right now. |
I am on the phone with Corporate retentions and they are still offering me a $54 plan with 6 gigs of data on a month month without a HUP or sign a 3 year contract to add a phone. The down side is they screwed up and billed me as early upgrade last year when I bought my phone outright. I had them fix it then and I was billed correctly, but in their system they still have me as renewing my contract last year. I setup a case file last month and still no one has looked into it and I am on hold trying to file another case. |
Best they could do was no credit renewal for my 6g of data. But they will give me credit towards whatever smart phone I want for my HUP |
Fuck Rogers. So I've got 3 phones on the shared "family plan". Wanted to add a 4th phone to the family plan, but the plan I signed up under last year is no longer available. So I apparently have to switch plans to the new shared plan which is a fixed fee for the first device (based on how many gig's of data you want it's $85-160/month) and then $55 for each smartphone added or $35 if you have your own phone. One of my phones has $300 left on the FlexTab and the other has $0 left. Get this - they say I have to pay $55/month for BOTH phones even though one has no balance left. How fucked up is that? Paying $55 for a phone that should be $35. So for the two devices I would pay $960 over 2 years ($20/month x 24 months x 2 phones) when I actually only owe $300 on one of them. I could also get a brand-new phone and pay the same $55/month. $55 for a new phone, a 1 year old phone and a 2 year old phone. Makes sense to me. So if I wanted to get their 3GB plan and 3 phones for my family the total is $270/month ($105 + $55 x 3). The lady tells me she has no ability to modify the plans because she has to do "what the computer says". So she puts me through to loyalty (retentions??). After explaining everything again she comes back and tells me her hands are tied "because of the CRTC". WTF? Blaming the CRTC for your stupid plans/pricing? She says she can give me $10 off. I ask if that's per device for my 2 existing ones and she says that's total. So they'll knock $270 down to $260. So I asked her how much to buy out my contract. Total is $600 (2 phones at $300 each). The third phone is paid out. If I buy my contract out then I can get both phones down to $35 a month. So it's pay $960 over 24 months because they can't adjust their stupid plans OR pay $600 up front to cancel. So then I ask her if I buy my contract out in full then what would be the incentive to re-sign with Rogers? I could just go over to Telus or Bell and get the exact same deal from them. If I was a new customer I might even be able to negotiate a better deal than $10 off they offered. She replies with an explanation of how to port my number. I'm like "WTF", a long-time customer who has never phoned before over any issues with service or my contract is being advised how to switch carriers? This boggles my mind as I was polite throughout my entire conversation with them and never once got angry, swore or raised my voice. So I said since there was nothing she could do I'll start getting ready to switch and said goodbye. I then filled out their online complaint form (though I don't expect anything to come from it). Off topic, I found it interesting that Rogers, Bell and Telus all have the EXACT same pricing for their share plans. I guess the CRTC made them all standardize their plans. /RANT BTW, I have a Gold iPhone 5S 32GB on hold for me at Rogers. If I don't hear back from them (which I'm expecting) then anyone who wants it can have it. Since it's in my name I'll have to pick it up but you can tag along and pay me. Not interested in flipping for profit - you can have it for what I pay for it. |
^^ Call rogers again, ask the agent for their name and ID number. If they at any point say crap like this again, tell them you want to speak to their supervisor and the call are recorded on your side. Let them know you been a long time customers and this is no way treat a loyal customer. Point is Roger rep don't care about what they say over the phone because no one ever put notes on your account. Just tell them you want to cancel they will most likely either process it on the spot (which is fine) or transfer you to rentations. |
Rogers loyalty/customer care just simply doesn't exist anymore. It might have mattered before, but it means jack squat to retentions and the csrs you talk to now. Yes it's their job to keep you but that's just that, a job. There is no passion nor do they believe in what their company stands for. It's a dime in a haystack to find someone on the other end of the line that really cares and wants to help. It also doesn't help that they have no consistency. One agent will tell you one thing, another will tell you another. It gets frustrating. Me and my wife have been with them for over 10 years each, my wife even longer before we met. All these 10 years, all I scored was a 10 dollar credit per line for all of a few months. They couldn't and/or wouldn't renew our credits when I switched our account to their corporate plan. All in all, fuck Rogers and all their worth. Just eye gouging assholes. Posted via RS Mobile |

So phoned in last night regarding my paperless billing again. Told the first csr she wouldn't be able to help me 5 minutes later she says she can't I say no shit Retentions please Explain my case to this guy regarding not getting emails with my bill cycle, taking 20 minutes to sift through online bills cause I have no paper trail as to where additional charges came from when I have auto payments setup for my account etc Says even Retentions cannot waive the $2 per bill paper fee which I'm sure is BS so I said well this ain't working and I'm going to sell my iPhone pay off my balance and switch to Somone else, he checked everything he could said my contract would be $120 if I got it now said I don't give a fuck because you guys were offering me this 5 years ago wih my 3G it's not my problem what you offer me my problem is your billing Ends up giving my a stupid fucking TV type scam discount, I get $35 credit over the next 15 months to make up for the $2 per paper bill. After that however if I don't phone in and update that it's just going to roll over and start charging me the $2 again So for the next 7 months I'll have Unlimited Rogers to Rogers Unlimited incoming 500 weekday minutes 100 monthly roll over minutes 1000 yearly roll over minutes Unlimited video, picture, voice messaging 6GB data Caller iD, voice mail Taxes in $59.50 I'd be more than happy though to have stayed at my $64.80 and went back to paper billing forever though :/ Posted via RS Mobile |

I use up about 2gb a cycle. Not everyone has their head in their phones 24/7. |
Called in to account changes and wanted my credits extended since when I signed the contract I had those credits on. No luck at all. They won't even budge. Then I asked if retentions are going to be able to help me then the rep said retentions don't do plans and only cancellations. I was like wtf |

Do you stream alot in your phone? |
Co-worker jut got a huge data overage bill waived. Heads up. Apparently they're no longer sending texts out when you are near your cap. Obviously bill shock will end soon when the changes from CRTC kick in anyways. |
