except I changed the 350 minutes into 250 minutes to get unlimited network calling. ;) |
im having a really hard time getting any agent to give me any monthly credits to get it as low as what you guys are getting. the answers and rebuttals are pretty consistent with all the agents that i have spoken to so far - its amost as if they are all reading off a script (eg. "rogers wouldnt be making any money etc.." what are your tricks? or is this just purely a HIT or MISS kind of thing? i did research on the redflagdeals thread and most people say that retentions and getting alot more strict on what they are giving out |
^ u need to sound fucking annoying |

I have the City Fido + 2500 txt + SAF + 911 + taxes etc.. for $72 and its too much for me .. since I'm not working . I have been on Fido for almost 10yrs. so you think I can get a retention plan that is some what close to what I have now.. I can handle $30 to 40 a month someone wants to buy my City Fido plan? |

for 1. Fido will gladly offer you something else so you wont have City Fido anymore. 2. you can't sell your city fido. The billing name cannot be changed for city fido. So its either you "sell/give" your city fido to a family member under your billing name. or youre gonna basically just get rid of city fido. |

and the $25 200 min 2500txt Unlimited F2F E/W 7pm No SAF comes out to around 28 bucks a month and if you get a nice CSR they might give u unlimited incoming (which is a $10 credit) typical ways to haggle with fido people is look up other companys plans or just be honest.. i.e (ive been with fido for 10+ year and i lost my job so can i get something more value oriented, then state that you wanna add the unlimited incoming and stuff like that cuz they wont give it to you on their own.. then if they dont then kindly tell them i may consider rogers (do your research first) plan.. goodluck |
fuck it w/e i gave up. finally settled with 350 weekday unlim evening weekends @ 6 unlimited incoming unlimted r2r 2500 txt voicemail caller id $42 including taxes.. + lg xenon for $39.99 (just gonna sell give it away) fuck retentions, its such a bitch |

I've got 350 mins Unlimited incoming unlimited eve and weekends after 8pm 10,000 text and pic msgs 500mb data VM call display Who called .........and that comes to $58.xx I believe my parents get the same thing as me (minus data) for less than $40 Then again, mine isnt spectacular either, but it gives you an idea of what you CAN get Some ppl here have CRAZY plans |
i called back and told them fido gives me a better plan, the lady put me on hold for 5 mins then said i can take 5 dollars off each month and give you an extra 50 minutes so i have 250 daytime minutes and 100 long distance minutes.. im happy with this |
is it true that the data plans went up in prices today?? i was offered this for $35 500mb unlimited email, text, im, bbm etc vm, caller id $5 credit but yesterday i swear this was $25!!! (no credit) |
that value pack was $35 without any credits. it launched at $30, went up to $35, now it's up to $40 because they think idiots will pay an extra $5 for some stupid ass voicemail to sms transcription service. fuck rogers. we need some competition in canada. |
So what do you say to them if you are still on contract when you want a better plan? |
Depends on how close you are to the end of your contract. Best bet is to have been out of contract for a few months before calling in, otherwise they'll laugh at any threats you make to switch to another carrier. Why? You'll be paying Daddy Rogers a big contract termination fee if you do. :lol |
Ya, I reupped my plan last your for the iphone for 3 years so I guess I'm SOL. I tried to renegotiate last year but they wouldn't give me anything at all last year. I lost the balls to renegotiate. I'm getting old. This is my current plan but the more I think of it the more it licks: $20 gets me 200 weekday minutes, call display and unlimited after 8pm. I have to add $5 for unlimited after 6pm and $5 for 500 text. Which is $30 before taxes and SAF. |
i just got this last week before i left for asia again: 450DT unlimited eve/wknd at 5pm voice mail, caller id, name id?? <--wtf never heard of this before 2500 txt messages sent unlimited email/ bbm 1Gb BIS taxes + SAF + credits it comes out to $51.50 woohoo!! going to knock it down another 5 by changing it to 500mb |

when i left the country i still had 2years remaining on my bill. i threatened to cancel since it'd be cheaper to pay 400 than to pay 60*24months. they asked how long i'd be gone for and i said 14months, so they gave me an $800 credit. I called in last week and got the plan i mentioned above before my previous contract expired. so in essence, i now only have a 4year contract vs. a 6, got a better plan, and had almost a grand in a one-time credit. but they did say one of the reasons is that i've been with them since the start. |
I just got my first bill for the plan I negotiated at the end of last month: 250DT 6pm E/W Unlimited Incoming Value Pack (CID & VM) 2500 Texts 100 LD Total: $25+SAF+911+taxes I'm very happy with this b/c I'm paying the same amount as I was paying before, but before I had 75m dt and no VM, LD, Unltd Incoming or texts! I probably could've done better but I am really happy with the plan. The only other thing I would've wanted would be a lower US LD rate. |

I was m2m for a while already. |
^ i was ~27 months away (no joke) from contract ending and they let me upgrade to a bb8900 at the 3 year term price and gave me an even better plan! i think i lucked out though cuz my sister tried and she couldn't get anything... i simply asked them how far i was from a hardware upgrade, they said november 2009 for a non-smart phone and november 2010 for a smart phone. then they asked me what phone i was looking at, i said bb 8900 and they gave it to me over a year in advance! i wonder how this works... i was only paying $25 per month before, but i've been a rogers customer for over 10 years.. |
