stuff99 07-09-2009 11:30 PM

im still on contract but my plan is pretty hurt now. it used to be good

$20 for 200 weekday minutes, call display unlimited after 8 and weekends. +$5 for unlimited after 6 and $5 for 500 txt. before tax and SAF

can u get a new and better plan if youre on contract already?

03aspec 07-09-2009 11:58 PM

yup, i do it all the time. lol.

AppleSugary 07-10-2009 11:07 AM

is it me or fido has better retention plan than rogerS?

Basically, fido's retention is the same as rogers but without that stupid SAF.

Currently took another 3 year contract with rogers

$25/month + Saf + 911 + taxes = $37
-350 minutes
-6pm to 7am eve and weekend
-unlimited incoming call
-unlimited rogers to rogers
-caller id
-voicemail
-2500 text messages

fido is offering the same retention plan but without saf. thats the standard retention plan of fido right now. sighs*

SoulCrusher 07-10-2009 06:29 PM

I called rogers today about adding the 6 gb dataplan. The agent said that unless i commit to a 3 yr contract i cant add it. I ended up settling for 1 gb for 30$. Can anyone confirm that you must commit to a 3 yr term for the 6gb.

AppleSugary 07-11-2009 12:46 AM

^^^ just get the 6gb and cancel it. it takes only MAXIMUM of 100 dollar to cancel it

keep trying, and play stupid. dont let on that you know too much about these "retention plans" because majority of the public doesnt know about it.

just say one or more of these things.
- not happy with service
- not happy with price
- friends pay less for the same type of plan
- thinking of switching providers
- etc....

JKam 07-19-2009 03:19 PM

anyone get a X1 from retentions yet?

So I called in and asked abt the Fido Retention Plan

And this is the new plan:
$15/month + Saf + 911 + Taxes = $25.14

-250 minutes
-6pm to 7am eve and weekend
-unlimited incoming call
-unlimited network call
-caller id
-voicemail
-2500 text messages

then I asked about getting 6gb data. After a nice, smooth conversation, the CSR gave it to me for $15 instead of $30.

So $15(voicemail) + $15(data) + saf + 911 + taxes = $42. 1 year renewal contract.
-250 minutes
-6pm to 7am eve and weekend
-unlimited incoming call
-unlimited network call
-caller id
-voicemail
-2500 text messages
-6 gb data

I have to give up the 100 minutes to get network calling. Then my sibling called in too and this is her new contract without any renewal.

$20+ saf+ 911 + taxes = $33
-250 minutes
-6pm to 7am eve and weekend
-unlimited rogers to rogers
-caller id
-voicemail
-2500 text messages

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I just saw this on howardforums.com... hopefully its useful to some of you guys while negotiating:

+Kardboard+: Sorry, internal Rogers codes and information is just that, internal. If HoFo doesn't take it down, that's their issue.

In_MODeration 07-22-2009 08:57 PM

damn kind of messy, can u retype that? btw what are we supposed to do with the codes?

alex.w *// 07-22-2009 10:50 PM

^ tell the csr the code, and bam you got yourself a new plan lol

In_MODeration 07-23-2009 12:26 AM

do you just tell them a combination of codes and thats the plan? are they authorized to even give you the customized plan?

In_MODeration 07-24-2009 10:18 PM

alright i need your imput on this

after 4 tries (each time getting better and better), i finally got this

350 min weekday
unlimited evening weekends after 6
unlimited incoming
unlimited r2r
2500 txt
voicemail
caller id

+ a hardware upgrade (im still trying to negot. this)

about just under $50.

should i take this or keep on negotiating?
