plus he has a huge salary... if you're the leafs, you pretty much take what you can get in that scenario.

hypediss 08-14-2008 02:37 PM

oooo

they r now 1 huge step closer to victor hedman or tavares

I don't know about that...

Leafs lose McCabe's offensive skills but they gain a pretty solid defenseman in Mike Van Ryn.

Hondaracer 08-14-2008 03:36 PM

Losing McCabe is the best thing thats happened to the leafs so far, that salary was insane

jigga250 08-14-2008 05:11 PM

I'm not sure why everyones talking like its a done deal...

plan B is Mark Parrish..

Vancouver Wild.

bossxx 08-14-2008 08:11 PM

God can we not talk about Parrish.. fuck i'd rather just keep the players we have instead of grabbing this plug.

There has to be other guys out there.. I can't believe this is Plan B.

nsmb 08-14-2008 08:48 PM

The Vancouver Wild?

Nylander sold his house...

goo3 08-14-2008 09:13 PM

No more plugs, please!

i don't see him signing for less than that. i know $5mill is a stretch and that would be a desperation "i need this guy" kinda signing, but realistically his market value would be around the $4mill mark

4 mill........you're insane. He gets no more than 2.5 a year.

Harvey Specter 08-14-2008 11:14 PM

Yeah, seriously why in the hell do we need Parrish?

rsx 08-14-2008 11:33 PM

This is turning into canucks forum....how gross.

Roach 08-14-2008 11:50 PM

Parrish is not a terrible player. If he could be signed for $1-2 million, I don't think he could be considered a plug. He has decent size and some offensive ability. I think it was stifled in Minnesota's defensive system and coming to Vancouver may rejuvenate his career.

actually, i think a $2.5mill or whatever parrish is worth, as a plan "B" is insane. because sundin not coming here, mike gillis may overpay for a player like parrish. i wouldn't care if he came here or not. same with sundin and his prima donna shit. seriously, yzerman even said, if your not sure about retirement, your not ready for it. when you know, you know.

Euro7r 08-15-2008 12:57 AM

What are the Nuxs doing, if we can't get Sundin, we'll have to settle for Parrish. Sundin and Parrish aren't even in the same league, one scores about 80pts per season, another scores about 30ish pts per season. I don't see how Parrish can help us.

trdees 08-15-2008 07:03 AM

if parrish signs and we get gaborik next year, welcome to the vancouver wilds! WOO

Roach 08-15-2008 07:07 AM

You guys are acting like we are going to spend $10 million on Parrish.

Keep in mind that Parrish will get around $2 million. A lot of other players can be picked up with an extra $7-8 million. Direct comparisons are fruitless at this point.

Did you guys here that sedins agent is looking to get them 6.5 - 7mill a yr. He was on the team1040 yesterday and he was compareing the sedins to horcoff, Gomez & Dury.

All I can say is that I personally think it would be better off to trade them. Get a high pic or a good prospect and have that extra cash to extend lou and get hopefully 2 - 3 top line forwards if sudin doesn't sign.

Ronin 08-15-2008 07:51 AM

I'd hope the Sedins take a hometown discount at around $5.5m. They're 80 point guys and that would easily net $6-6.5 in this market. Imagine them on our second line if Sundin signs...they'd have so much more freedom and be much more dangerous.

murd0c 08-15-2008 07:55 AM

^ right now the agent said that him and the canucks are very far off. Said that they want a min 6.5 a yr. Which yes they put up the points but hjavn't produced in the play off's and are far from a physical type top line player which we really need.

Razor Ramon HG 08-15-2008 08:00 AM

If we sign Parrish to 6.5M, you know we're in deep trouble.

trdees 08-15-2008 08:17 AM

should trade the sedins for ovechkin ;)
