I'm starting to doubt rogers will ever get this phone..especially since they are getting infuse.

I'm signing a new contract soon...which phone does rogers have that will yield me just under enough cash to cover the cost of an unlocked SG2 if I sell it on CL? I was hoping just to be off by maybe $100..or are all of them worth too little to make it worthwhile...and just wait for iphone 5 to sell that? Ugh seems so risky.

I want this phone bad but I can't cough up $700.

hold out for iphone 5, or whatever, from Rogers then sell that to get the SG2, seeing as your contract is nearly up.

Rogers just announced that they're getting the HTC Evo 3D and LG Optimus 3D, so you could probably get those

nns 07-15-2011 09:04 PM

Is the Evo 3D a worthy competitor to the Galaxy S2?

Looks like the Optimus 3D has only 512 MB of RAM, compared to the 1GB of the Galaxy S2 and the Evo 3d.

Psykopathik 07-15-2011 09:32 PM

Edit: the Evo has a higher Res screen. 960x540 and only 1gb internal storage. The sg2 has 16gb and 800 x 480 screen

Euro7r 07-15-2011 09:58 PM

I'm gonna call Bell tmr and see if I can get the Galaxy S2. My contract is up soon.

1. I'm with Rogers
2. I don't want a contract and to pay cancellation and activation fees.
3. I don't want a shitty firmware full of Bell crap.
4. I paid only a little more than Bell's non contract price.
5. I get my phone before Bell people.
6. Its already unlocked.
7. Cuz that's how I roll son.

Pretty much sums up my response to the people who said I got "duped' in paying $750 cash.

Euro7r 07-16-2011 11:07 AM

Argh. I called Bell to see if I was eligible for hardware upgrade and get the S2, damn guy told me my contract wasn't up till next year, I guess I got my dates mixed up.

I guess my best bet is to buy the phone straight up and switch over to a data plan contract?

cctw 07-16-2011 11:38 AM

=_=..went to mobile dna again today..2 days ago some 4 eyed guy told me $670 tax in..

now this new 4 eyed guy says $670 + tax..i'm like F U and left..

illicitstylz 07-16-2011 03:26 PM

Talk to the retentions department. My contract expires next year but I still able to get the hardware upgrade.

Had to get a new phone so got the S2. Coming from an iPhone then Blackberry to this, anyone got any starters tips for the S2 or Android in general? I have been to a few forums but it all seems a bit confusing.

Any like top 10 MUST DO things when first getting this phone?

Thanks :D

Just go naturally, don't try to follow other peoples footsteps too much. You will find it very enjoyable to get it to work just the way you want it. IE, you will probably have some things you like about your old iphone, and your old blackberry. Well with your new phone, you can probably have the best of everything.
