Same here. After trying the different launchers I still like launcher pro the best.

Only annoying issue I've noticed with launcher pro is when I select an image in portrait mode to use as my desktop wallpaper it gets zoomed in.

i find that after a bit of customization, the phone isnt as snappy as when it first came out of the box.. almost feels like an overclocked nexus s right now except a bit faster..

from bell or virgin?

Oleophobic 07-21-2011 12:01 PM

Bell.

The guy couldn't sell the phone outright because the system didn't allow it so he sold it as a "hardware exchange".

Gh0stRider 07-21-2011 02:23 PM

dont know where this is, but...

I'm with Bell.

Even if you're not I'm sure you can buy it from them. I didn't even tell the guy I was with Bell until I got there. When I first called the guy told me selling it outright is frowned upon if stock is very limited. He had 4 left and was willing to sell so I'm guessing very limited means 1-2. I haven't checked xda yet but I don't think unlocking it should be an issue.

I don't wanna name drop so if anyone wants to know which rep I dealt with (chill, friendly mofo) feel free to shoot me a PM.

Culverin 07-21-2011 03:49 PM

It's like a repeat of the first SGS all over again.
Once I get a job, I'm ditching my Captivate and upgrading. Hopefully the crazyness would have died down, if now, I'm ordering online.

Quoting this from Howardsforum

A confirmed unlock is now available.

First root your phone through this procedure
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1103399

Then, use Galaxy_s as available through the android market.

There will NOT be any confirmation saying your phone has been successfully unlocked. It will sporadically reboot, and at the end you will know your phone is unlocked.

Anjew 07-21-2011 07:12 PM

i've been reading of a ton of problems with the screen having blemishes like dead pixels etc... i want to be able to return it even if it has only 1 dead pixel.

LiquidTurbo 07-21-2011 07:19 PM

Just got an email from Bell advertising 4G?? That these 'superphones' will be able to take advantage of higher speeds. Since when did we have 4G?

Psykopathik 07-21-2011 07:20 PM

Anjew this erases all traces of Rooting? and thanks

4G in other words is just faster speed. Anything faster than a certain mbps can be called 4g

krazynuck 07-21-2011 08:58 PM

ill head to Costco tomorrow then and pick one up....I was going to go tonight but ended up seeing a movie instead

There's "4G" and actual 4G. What you are talking about is "4G" for marketing purposes. True 4G is a true next-generation network (in this case, LTE). Rogers has an LTE network, but I believe it's only in Toronto and Ontario right now...
