hey guys my brother went to go buy the phone today and they wont sell it to him without a plan for 30 days.

He went to bell store and futureshop in downtown.

nobody took a screenshot and at least try to go price match it?

ok this is silly. Why is it that I have to get a contract when I buy this phone? What happened to the days where I can just buy hardware without it being locked down to a cellphone provider.

Hit up costco. Or try going to virgin?

I called most bell stores downtown and they wont do it.

apple's got it right when it came to selling the iphone 4...

so many restrictions when you are locked to a carrier.

what about future shop and best buy near metro?

I got mine from the FS at metro and my friend bought his at the bestbuy there. At best buy though, they were only willing to sell it outright as a final sale. No exchanges/returns.

Firstly, stores are given incentives to sell these on contracts. For X amount of phones put on contract, they get X amount of dollars for it. So business sense, they want to sell them on contract only.

It's not right since they're representing Bell and Bell's policy isn't to sell it for new customers or existing customers only....However, it's their business and no one can really stop them.

As for the best buy final sale, they only say that to scare you off from buying it or from returning/exchanging it. The same return policy would apply whether you bought it out right or not...

I just saw this...if it's true i hope roger confirms it soon. I think it makes sense since Rogers will be only offering 3D phones for their dual-core line up. I hope with slideout keyboard it's still reasonably thin

With a slideout keyboard, this will probably seal the deal for me and switch over to the sgs2 from my beloved BB torch.

After my HTC TyTn i give up on sliders. too inconvenient. if i want a physical keyboard, id buy a Berry. giant touchscreen and soft keyboard. its my bag, baby.

For the cfroot kernel? You're supposed to use one with a matching version or as close to it as possible.
