i'd like to answer my own question. an app called Volume Plus does just that. it's kind of buggy but it works

When i unzip CF root file, another zip comes up? wtf

^its not actually a zip file...if you right click and look at properties, its actually a .tar file which is what you want.

So follow the steps
- open Odin
- click pda, find that .tar file and open it
- make sure your phone is in dl mode and then plug into computer
- and then just flash it (don't fiddle with any buttons)

No problem. The only requirements are that you need to be rooted. Just follow the install instructions on the xda thread.

alternatively i used the online kitchen method which works too

So, my sg2 Lte preorder for Rogers arrived today at my nearest Rogers plus store. I decided to not take it and wait for the nexus prime.. 800x400 Res on a 4.5 screen seems rather dumb. How does the text look on sg2? Can u see pixels clearly.. im reading that the nexus prime for rogers will be low Res as well

Nexus Prime will be 720p screen. You're probably reading the Pentile vs the RGB screen.

The RGB 4.3" screen on my SGS2 is great. Definitely smoother lines than the previous SGS with Pentile.

When you root, does it save in a place called ContentSafer?

I googled it and it says from Samsung company.

Also, what does flashing modem do?

I've read about this method to vet the green status bar icons. Is that what it gives you? Or just the circle battery?

Is the LTE galaxy s2 the version without a physical home button and 4.5" screen?? I was reading that the processor for those is the tegra2 and isn't as good as the original exynos processor used in the first SGS2.

It's not tegra2. It should be qualcomm. Something to do with the max data throughput speeds or something that they had to switch.

You can, just need to change the user agent of the browser.

well i went and bought the phone. I got no patience. okay so the revscene app is not working properly. I get fc's when i try to go to page 78 of this thread, or any page for that matter. Im gonna refund it. Someone please fix the app :( Btw the keyboard sucks ass on this phone. The auto correct is horrible and gets in the way. I had so much trouble typing this msg. I want auto correct on tho but it just sucks. The screen is also weird on this phone, i can see lines and static running down it sorta like brushed metal. Its like burnt into the screen. Its easier to see at medium or low brightness.. Does anyone have that issue? My x10 didnt have that issue.

Auto Correct can be turned off. Hit the Gear button when you have the keyboard open. Turn it off.
Or go to Settings. Or just hit the arrow key when it gives you the word option, and "add word"
If not, just turn on swype and try that instead.
Revscene app works fine. Most if not all of us have it working on our SGS2s. Just reinstall it if you have issues.
