1) root phone (which you did) 2) download villianrom (currently 3.0 i think) 3) put it in your sd card and make sure u have cwm on (should have it when u rooted) 4) turn off and get into cwm by pressing volume up, power, and home button 5) use the volume keys to move up and down. back up files then wipe data and clear cashe 6) install rom. go find villian on ur sd card. wait 5-15 mins You should be on the villian loading screen for a few mins after all the wiping and installing. By SD card, it can be the internal SD right? As I don't have an external SD card in my phone at the moment. |

Do any of you guys use anti-virus security for your S2? |

Awesome... But wtf. I sure hope they have an option to disable the onscreen buttons cause that's a waste of screen space on devices that have buttons on the phone already. |

Hard for it not to. The internals are pretty similar in terms of processing power and ram. |
:sweetjesus: |
Those buttons on the screen are stupid, and it seems the actual buttons don't light up? Cant wait for the official release for the SGS2 though! |

They've already removed it in the port process. |

try formatting it on the computer first? Posted via RS Mobile |
Wish my battery always lasted like this lol. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8070499/20111120140121.jpeg Push mail usually leaves me with about 20hours of usage per day. |
So I installed VanillaRom and it was quite easy. The problem is, when I tried to install Titanium Backup to restore my settings and apps, it said my phone was not rooted. I thought once you root, it will always be rooted even if you install a different ROM. |
Just reflash CF root back thru ODIN. Should work fine after that. Also, after formatting my sd card, it still couldnt be read by my phone.. Im stumped.. searched everywhere as well and said that did the trick. Would it be my card problem? But it was perfectly fine on my other phone. |
Not sure if this has been covered in this before or not but there is an easter egg in the SGS 2 to adjust screen brightness. On the top of your screen, hold down your finger on the notification bar and slide from left to right to manually adjust your brightness. Comes in pretty handy. |
For those that are interested in experimenting. This is the ICS alpha build 7 for SGS2. It's built on the official Google ICS AOSP source so it won't have any Samsung customizations which really won't be needed finally. It's not perfect yet but at least they switched off the on screen keys and it looks mostly working. [Port] Galaxy SII Ics port alive again with AOSP - xda-developers |
