Turns out I hernia'd myself with my endurance test last week. Very minor, but probably shouldn't be doing heavy squats or DL's for a week or two :fuuuuu:

Splmash 11-18-2011 11:56 AM

Squated today. 3 plates for 2 sets. Ended it off with 5 sets of negatives. 10 reps with 5 seconds down and one up. I can't walk anymore.

I didn't haha just took a chance to ask the guy in front of me also doing arms. If it wasn't you I would have been finishing up so I wouldn't feel like a total ass for long :okay:

Just finished doing deadlifts today, need to improve that grip.

Cheap Long-sleeve Champion polyester junk from Costco. They were like 12 bucks a pop, paired with shorts. I'll go with a T shirt if i'm not planning on doing any cardio, but I can't stand a wet t shirt sticking to me. The polyester breathes so well.

I wear polyester shirts at work but thats cuz its -20 and will get down to -40 in the next couple of months. Gotta keep the moisture away from my body so I stay nice and warm..

Those of you that can do a muscle up, HOW THE FUCK DO YOU PROGRESS TO IT?

I've tried to do the beast skills. I've done weighted pullups and dips (can do 2 x 90 lbs for each). It's so godamn frustrating.

The closest I can get is to step on the platforms on the squat rack and give myself a little push to do it, but I can't for the life of me do it from a dead hang. WHAT THE FUCK

Outreach 11-18-2011 06:16 PM

Finally achieved 4 plate chest dips 3 weeks ago doing 3 reps. Couldn't even do 1 rep last chest workout. I'm not eating enough and am neglecting maintenance.

Berzerker 11-18-2011 06:22 PM

Wut? You do weighted dips with 4 plates? Doesn't that strain the shit out of your shoulders?

Berz out.

use a little bit of momentum and swing forward

TouringTeg 11-18-2011 07:43 PM

Berz how long you been stuck at 2 plates? Do you do barbell rows?

Holy. 47lb weighted dips are already killing my shoulders.

hal0g0dv2 11-18-2011 09:32 PM

4 plate weighted dip lol, I don't think I have ever gone over 2 plates
What is your bench ?

SkinnyPupp 11-18-2011 11:39 PM

Dips are my all time favorite. Maybe because my triceps are usually above the rest of my body. :D

Had a fucken awesome session today, perhaps because last night was my first solid night of sleep in weeks

Muscle ups are pretty easy once you get the form right. Most people who work out regularly (not just bi's and chest) can do it.

It took me 2-3 months to be able to do 10 straight with momentum. I can do about 3-4 reps without any momentum at all. Those are hard.

Also, try practicing on pull up bars on those Apex cable machines. They are slightly angled towards you, so you can lean in a bit for more leverage.

A typical straight pull up bar will be harder to do a muscle up on.

2 plates and a quarter for a couple reps. I'm 5'9 169. I will for sure post a video the next time i try 4 plates again.

Outreach 11-19-2011 09:12 AM

It doesn't really hurt my shoulders to be honest, if i feel any strain (if any) its just right after the set which is gone usually before the next set.

JDął 11-19-2011 12:03 PM

Oops wrong thread

We're all talking about standard 45lbs plates right ... and a full range of motion. None of that 2 inches dip shit.

And a video would be great. That's quite the weight you can dip there. It'd be impressing to see.

Berzerker 11-19-2011 02:19 PM

I've been stuck at 2 plates for a couple months now. I do Smith Machine and DB rows both. Smith Machine rows I do 45x35 per side and DB I do 115lbs. To be honest though I don't really blast my chest all that hard. I'm kinda doing just enough these days my real focus lately is my back and legs.... Figured I would try and transform from an Ed Hardy douchebag (chest, shoulders, arms) and fill the rest of my body out ;)

Berz out.

hud 91gt 11-19-2011 03:14 PM

I'm the opposite. Need to fill in that chest. I need to be more of a douchebag!
