finally hit 2 plates for dead lifting, only could pull 2 reps though :( kept losing grip on the third rep

So it's been about 8-9 months of working out..the first 5months were just learning how to lift and posture etc. I just recently just understood how good form is everything. I went from 102lbs to 135lbs...Pretty good so far. Just started squating and deadlifting.. I notice ahuge increase in power after doing these excercises :) My diet lately have been lacking as I have been working very often so I can't seem to put on a pound.

Whats a good food if you only could take 10-15min break every 4 hours.
Something with lots of protein and carbs and that is not a protein shake.

Thanks!

and i'll try to make it to weightlifting and 100m dash as well

See ya there! I just have to be able to sustain my 500m rowing time for 2000 meters. :lol

Gym was awesome today - very few people with fuckaroundtitus and I felt like superman after setting a PR in overhead squats after not doing them for a long assed time.

I've been doing shoulder dislocations for the past couple months and they help SO MUCH with shoulder mobility. I can now catch a snatch in full squat position and hold it there.

Garbage workout. Was food deprived from being at the dentist for 4 hours (had to take my sister too), and directly off to gym.

:okay:

Pick something, anything. Do it everyday. Keep a log. Obsess over what you can improve on. Track your progress.

That's all there is to it.

you're never too old to start something you just need that motivation

Fuck that shit. I don't know how old you are, but for a lot of things, you've not too old to compete at the highest level. Hockey, basketball, maybe not, but other sports like swimming, rowing and running have had people who've competed in their 40s at the highest level (and won medals).

Building your company is awesome (my original post still applies, measure progress religiously), but it's never to late to learn something you can enjoy.

Late but I usually spend 1hr lifting and 20-30 mins of cardio after.

Motivating video. Always loved that Rocky speech.

Signing up for a half marathon in Victoria in May 2012. Did 2 halfs and a full marathon in 2009-2010 and have been taking a break. I love running and am going to train hard for this one.

agree but there's always exceptions, see guy doing deadlift

Excelsis 12-20-2011 05:20 PM

the guy deadlifting has an advantage because he's short and has a shorter ROM, nevertheless still impressive

and for the guy squatting 825 lbs that's just pure beast

But imagine if that guy was 200lbs. He would be pulling a lot more than he already is.
