Because all of these recent posts have been quite motivational/inspirational, it made me want to post some of my own progress!

My story, though, is a little different from the majority of people in this thread since I started off overweight as opposed to "underweight". Nonetheless, I hope those struggling either to lose or gain weight can find that discipline, hard work and persistence will take you closer to your goal...no matter how hard it is, just keep going!

I was quite a heavyweight back then weighing around 280-290 at my maximum!

Spoiler!

XplicitLuder 12-15-2011 10:16 PM

that's awesome man! i remember when i was almost reachin 300, just a slob, not really giving 2 shits, and then i kinda changed my mind set a lil bit and went down to about 250, started to care a lil more as i got older and wanted to be noticed by girls. I gained a lil weight since then, but i dont mind. a lot of the fat has transformed into muscle and im just taking it day by day. Eventually i'll be like you! and it's great because i know i can achieve it

ShadowBun 12-15-2011 10:35 PM

I was 240 in high school
Now im 190ish, been working out on and off from grade 12

got a quick question
I used to have a lot of fat around the waist, now there is still some. It is proportional there - like my top and legs are not too badly defined but I still have a bit of fat just around that area.

I know you can;t concentrate losing a certain part of body fat but wtf.

anyone got any suggestions?its always the freaking stomach

Excelsis 12-15-2011 10:38 PM

Just go on a diet lol, your body fat is still high then

LC21 12-15-2011 10:40 PM

Yeah man, just keep working at it. Just keep yourself motivated because, at times, it's hard to find any sort of inspiration to keep going. Everyday is an opportunity for self-improvement :)

wow, great job man, glad your hard work paid off! what are you weighing in now? and when were the before and after pics taken?

neggo 12-15-2011 11:19 PM

^ Thanks, man.

I weigh in at around 180-185 now and the before pictures were about 2+ years ago. Those after pics were taken a couple months back.

The last few pages have me feeling extremely motivated to get back in the gym, I stopped going regularly a couple years ago after an injury and it's been hard to get back into the routine since a lot of the more useful lifts I straight up can't do any more. Squatting and pretty much anything standing is completely out for me, straight up impossible, I'd probably fall over lol. Maybe I'll go tomorrow during the day when it's quiet and experiment a bit, try to find a routine that I can make work for my body. I miss the gym, but it's so discouraging feeling broken when I fail at simple things.. :okay:

Thanks for the motivation guys, seeing everyone's progress inspired me.

Been hitting squats hard lately. Did them today for the second time this week. I'm still doing a relatively low amount of reps, but i've upped the amount of sets I do. For example...
1 x 12 @ 135, 1 x 6 @ 225, 1 x 5 @ 275, 1 x 2 @ 315, 1 x 2 @ 315, 1 x 6 @ 225, 1 x 6 @ 225, 1 x 3 @ 225. Followed by leg raises, leg curls, calf raises, and a few light stiff leg dl's.
As crazy as it sounds I'm starting to like squats :megusta: makes me feel so accomplished. I'm not going above 3 plates for a while, personally i'd rather be able to rep 6 with 315 as opposed to repping 2 with 350. Although I do wan't to be able to say "I squat twice my bodyweight" most of the monsters at my gym can't even do that..lol

Better!

Berz you're not 8-9% BF, you're about 15-20%. I measured myself the week before I got sick on the machine at the gym and I was 17%. That blew my mind to be honest I thought I was 10% or less too.

I wouldn't go as far as to say he's 15% bodyfat, but I sure dont think that's 8% either.
