What's the best way to know if you are doing succesful squats? I've watched countless How To videos, and I am still doubting my form.

Where do you feel the burn? The only time I feel a burn is when I do the leg extentions.

For those who know how to squat, do you feel the burn during, or after your reps?

take a video of yourself and either critique it yourself or post it here.

To be honest I don't really feel a "burn" per say when I'm doing squats. The only time I've actually felt a real "burn" is when during the weekly workout challenge and that was after my 20th rep @ 200lbs. Usually I just feel fucking fatigued. Not a "burn" like in some exercises but just total fatigue. Not sure if I explained that properly hah.

I've puked after doing squats but never from any other time working out in the gym lol

Berz out.

jeffh 12-19-2011 08:14 AM

i get the same, its never like my legs feel too tired, its like i feel too tired.
until the next day, when i need crash bars to have a shit

Dont critique yourself if you dont know what you're doing…ask a member who trains professionally, a trainer, or a staff member.

I feeel ya. i feel like my squats are successful when i can feel the push through the heels/outer foot, and when i feel it in my upper quads.

Same here guys, my legs dont feel tired themselves, my whole body is fatigued

Screw cardio, squats will get ya blood pumping just the same

Berzerker 12-19-2011 10:02 AM

I see people on the stair climber or stationary bike climbing and pedaling away and I chuckle as I know my heartbeat is just thumping after lifting hard and I'm getting way more benefit from lifting weights than they are from sitting there doing cardio.

And lvl 20 on the new cardio machines are like a 5 on the old ones.
I was reading a story once and Dorian Yates asked why lvl 20 was like a 2 at his temple gym climbers. The gym ppl said so it helps motivate the ppl

No man!! I've noticed we basically train with the same weights, except that your deadlift is 40lb stronger, and by reps too.

When I did 5 sets of 5 reps couple months ago with squats, I felt the burn like crazy on my 2nd set. Are you guys doing enough reps per set? I've currently been doing a lot of 1-3 reps on squats, so I don't feel shit until I go on the leg press or do cleans.

RRxtar 12-19-2011 12:13 PM

Yeah, RRxtar is right; the normal price is 42 dollars.

I swung by Costco and there is no sale on the Kaizen. It's still 42 dollars.

Although, I believe they should be on sale in the near future.
