crazy, ive been having a ton of problems with my left wrist right at the bump on the ulna bone since september. had to wear a wrist brace at work and definitely in the gym until within the last month. its still bugging me but not as bad and getting better. problem is with pulling my wrist back (like curls), all other movements ok.

mc25 01-08-2012 03:20 PM

Sounds like the same thing…try the easy curl bar man, did me wonders for just about everything

RRxtar 01-08-2012 03:36 PM

ya i gave up straight bar curls years ago, they put your forearms, elbows, wrists in a twisted gay angle. ive only used the ez curl bar for years. but that was even too painfull so i switched to the hammer curl bar while my wrist has been buggered.

Berz out.

BB Deleted the thread Berz.

It was about the dominant use of roids in bodybuilding.

And these big guys don't do much compounds that could potentially hurt themselves, that's why they stick to basics like curls, et cetera.

And that a natural athlete with a 100% diet and strict training regiment will never be as good as a lazy mofo who has a shitty diet and weak training on roids.

I feel for you guys. I sprained my wrist really bad in sparring and it took at least a year to heal. I had to wear wrist braces, wrapped it, etc. I gave it the rest it needed and focused lightly on grip work. The fat gripz helped to a degree as well.

RRxtar 01-08-2012 04:29 PM

there was a research study done where they showed a guy who did steroids and no exercise made more gains than a natty guy who did everything right and trained hard.

ive also heard things like you make 90% of your gains in the first 4 years of proper training natty.

Work your shoulders with overhead squats. Do them light before every workout as part of your warmup

:suspicious:

then the bodybuilding shows just relies on the individual's genetics and how much he can grow based on the hormones he's taking..?

Can someone define 'hip drive' for me?

Excelsis 01-08-2012 06:52 PM

using your hip flexors when you're going up in squats, that's what keeps your back straight

When doing squats and deadlifts, focus on thrusting/driving your hips forward rather than pushing your legs up in squats or overextending back in deadlift in order to keep proper form.

just like arnold once said, you have to take a step back and just laugh at what you're doing, being the best buildman in the world.

Also bodybuilding really went back just like shawn ray said once too, bodybuilding is about the sport of building muscle but all to the exclusion of size, proportion, and mass.

big guy at the gym tonite who sorta walks around like hes the strong guy was power shrugging i think 635lbs. but they werent real power shrugs more of like a spasm jittery seizure. noobs were mirin hard. it was rediculous

i think he was probably just shown up since jeffh and i pulled no belt, no straps dealifts basically the same weight he does. he continuously fails on 4 plate deadlifts week after week after week with straps and a belt. every week the same thing. and i pull em for reps and jeff is just about there too. and he outweighs jeff by like 50lbs.

What's the difference between this powershrug and a normal shrug?

I shrug some pretty heavy ass weight to build up my traps for squats mainly to cushion the bar. I guess also for deadlifts to "feel" what the weight actually feels like at the top
