How has everyone else done over two years?

Started squatting and deadlifting a year ago with just 25's each side. Got squats up to 2 plates and a quarter and dime and dl at 3 plates.

Meager gains for me. Mostly due to my inconsistency and being a beta phaggot at the gym.

Instantneedles is the poster boy for what a year of hardwork can get you. You can make the progress in one year that you could make in 3 or 4 with shitty dedication.

Before summer ends i hope to hit 3 plate squat for reps and 4 plate dl at end of the year. You guys were right, going from 3plates to 4, seems like such a big jump.

Meowjin 06-02-2012 11:51 PM

my stupid short legs and long torso don't allow for deadlifts. I have such difficulty doing them on the platform too.

Verdasco 06-03-2012 12:15 AM

going to hongkong and beijing for 2 weeks. no lifting... going to lose my gains :alone:

my father to this day still thinks protein powder is steroids.

He grew up a farmer (and a dairy farmer at that) and he still doesn't understand what it is.

J.C 06-03-2012 12:38 AM

^ my parents think that too haha

Maybe try sumo deadlifting?

There are many different stances for the deadlift and each one will hit the muscle groups a little bit differently.

Most people will benefit from reading Starting Strength. I just started reading it last month even after a few years of lifting and it really is an eye opener as to how the body and physics relate to each other during a lift.

i woulda thought that woulda been an advantage.

one thing i've noticed over the years, is, everyone (myself included) makes "my body doesn't work for ______" excuses.

the other thing i've learned over the years, is, unless you're in a wheelchair, everyone can deadlift or squat regardless of how they are built. so just go fucking do it and stop making excuses.

nns 06-03-2012 11:07 AM

Short legs and long torso....? I thought that only existed in cartoon characters like Johnny Bravo?

Post a picture, I want to see what your weirdo body looks like. :suspicious: :fullofwin:

who says I don't do it?

I just said my awkward lanky body, I have to use a platform.

Hahahaha wolverine dude is gone, he gave up on the gym, and bounced. Camile (brown with the big tits) is still here tho, she's fuckin ripped now, he voice has dropped and her abs look like mine. Def hittin the anavar. She's about to get a boob job increase to size E's from DD's lol.

JSilver 06-03-2012 11:49 AM

Es... Are you serious, those things were big enough LOL.

Yeah I remember speaking to all the regulars there. Can't remember their names anymore haha.

Or how about that one brown guy who wears a white hat, tall, track pants, side murse and is always on the phone? I think he owns North Van Cabs or some shit. Use to come in with his other smaller brown buddy lol.

A ton of characters in that gym, but definitely a worthy gym for equipment to be in.

Good times.

Meowjin 06-03-2012 11:54 AM

on another forum some guys were trying to preach losing weight on 1 meal a day?

And they keep linking me to this book

http://uranus.ckt.net/~gochiefs/Eat%20Stop%20Eat.pdf

Brad Pilon's Blog - Eat Stop Eat, Intermittent Fasting, Nutrition, Fasting and the art of losing weight and building muscle.

I still believe in eatting 5 small meals a day while losing weight,

I made those same excuses too :okay:

But then I was like fuck it and keep trying....

Took me about three weeks just to do one single full rep of the wind shield wiper for abs.....

But I still managed to do so :fuckyea: takes motivation and dedication.
