I think they get the respect but it was just time. We have to be like Wally Buono of the BC Lions. That is to never be afraid to let players go when you think it's time to move on regardless of how good they were or how popular they were in the city. Heck even if they are still playing well you can't be afraid to let them go if shit just isn't working out. Loyalty is cool but it can end up biting you in the ass.

Agreed....bottom line is Canucks is a business, not a family.

I read on another forum that St. Louis sent Bernier an offer sheet for 2.5 million so take it for what its worth. If it's true I got to say Hah! Whats good for the goose is good for the gander. Obviously canucks would match.
