I warned all my friends of the bugs of BBM 5.0 after reading all this and they wouldn't listen, and now they're all glitching out haha I'm waiting for the final version to be released

Normally you would be able to download it off the website but IIRC it said it's not compatible with my OS or something like that.

but that is EXACTLY what i did. backed up my bold then i removed BBM 5 like any other application via options > advanced options > bb > delete. after that a simple reboot and bbm was gone. boot up DM with bb plugged in and went to apploader and i was able to select to install BBM 4.6. proceeded and restored my contacts. never had to reload an OS onto my phone to get BBM 4.6 back.

So, my trackball is finally starting to stick. Any suggestions for fixing this, or am I stuck sending it back to Rogers?

Armind 08-04-2009 10:28 PM

Hey if I wanna use BBM in the states for the next 20 days. How much would it cost? :S

i usually turn my bold upside down, depress the trackball and roll it around.

Gave it a shot, I cleaned it off yesterday with a cotton towel by rubbing it around. It seemed to have helped. Hopefully with your method, it will go away for a while now.

I just talked to Digital Communications (formerly Celtek) on Friday. My current contract is expiring and I'm thinking about signing another three year deal.

I don't know why phone companies always give better incentives to new customers instead of trying to keep their existing ones happy. It costs 10x more to get new business than it does to keep existing customers.

Anyways, if I were to renew my contract and keep my number I am going to pay $299 for the phone (aka Joe Blow on the street can walk into any Rogers dealer and get the same deal.)

However, Celtek offered it to me for $199 over a 3 year term if I signed a new contract with a new number. I'm going to drop by a few more places tomorrow to see what other dealers might offer before I call Rogers to tell them I'm cancelling my existing number.

you are gonna get raped for the data plan now that rogers jacked it up to $30 for the BB messaging value pack and $40 for the 500mb value pack when they used to be $20 and $30 to begin with.

mickz 08-09-2009 07:16 PM

Went to TBooth today to check out the $99 Bold another member mentioned.

The price is going to be different from account to account. They wanted to charge me $349 with a $50 credit (net $299.)

ws6ta 08-10-2009 11:57 PM

on the bold is it possible to set one contact phone number's SMS alert to one full mp3 song? basically one number that sends me sms alerts I just want an extremely long annoying alert so that no matter how sleepy I am I can wake up.

Gh0stRider 08-11-2009 12:53 AM

^^ dont think thats possible.

TekDragon 08-11-2009 10:29 AM

Not sure if anyone else has been keeping up on the 9700, probably the bold 2.
