heard RIM had a data outage, not sure if that may be the cause of you not receiving your emails TypeR

I had a firmware version that used to do asian character input (I'm specifically interested in korean since I'm working on learning the language), but every time I've updated lately it hasn't been in the language options when I try to install it.


Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or which FW version I should use? Thanks guys, it's just such a pain in the ass!

when you say updating, how are you doing it?

i d/l the firmware by country and carrier, with knowledge that the specific carrier in question has that language in the region. i.e. CSL would have traditional/simplified chinese

Probably not, called last week for a friend and tried to negotiate a deal to renew his contract and the CSR said the Bold was available. The Source has the Bold for $99 right now, probably the best deal you can get http://www.thesource.ca/estore/Produ...roduct=1718384 Downside is you can't negotiate your plan.

If someone msged me and i open it to read it and mark it as unread after. will it show as a recieved msg on their bbm?

@graeme: update using DM 4.6 and before you continue go to advanced options or something like that. there will be a list of support languages and input languages. you would have to make sure to tick them so that it will be available on your bold after updates or you can just do it now so its available. then it should be available on your bold as input and support reading those characters.

@armind: i don't believe that can be done. once a msg has been sent to your bold, it will say D on their end and once you read it, it will say R on theirs. no way to make it show unread.

The last two times I've tried to go in and it offers me a bunch of european languages, but no asian ones--even though I downloaded (what I thought was) multilanguage incl asian lang support, the AT&T latest version.

Any ideas what my problem is? And yes I've installed it and then deleted the vendor.xml stuff, so it shouldn't be a problem there.

I found out they do in fact have them in stock but the thing is for some strange reason their system hasn't processed my order. Sounds like straight bs to me. I should have had it on the 5th but now I have to wait up to 10 business days. Had the rep credit my data for this month, guess all I can do is wait. Fuck rogers, bastards.

im currently running 301 and its eastasia or multilanguage. forgot which carrier released it and when i ran it through dm 4.6 there are asian languages.

I just bought a bold and was wondering why my bbm isnt working but my browser is. I talked to tech support and they said its because the phone I have was improperly unlocked or else stolen. I am pretty sure this phone wasnt stolen ( but not 100% sure) but I was wondering if I can get someone to properly unlock it??

this sucks..

has anyone else had this issue before?

edit: I just found out my phone is unlocked properly by going into the options menu.. so this thing is stolen?/ or what? fuckkkk this is so gay.

im assuming u added the blackberry data plan on since ur browsing works, try going to options>advanced options>host routing table>register now

then wait a bit prob max 2 hours

i just tried that and the routing table is still blank (rogers tech support guy just told me to do this a minute ago). he then told me to uncheck the rogers network and check it off again but we got disconnected LOL duhh fuck

i went to the rogers website to log into my bis and i typed in the pin and emei and it says my phone is not registered to the rogers network

u need to go to blackberry.com and select the correct county and carrier. obviously NOT canada if you want chinese

that would be hong kong --> CSL

then all you have to do is call into rogers and tell them to register your phone onto their network providing the imei and possibly the PIN to them. im assuming you bought your phone from a dealer so it should be no problem at all accomplishing that, but however, if you did buy it off of someone, you would have to have them call into rogers to release the phone as you can't do it due to privacy/security reasons.

^ after hours of googling I found this info out last night.

You're right I have to contact the previous owner of this phone so they can 'release' the pin. Because riht now the data on this phone is blocked. Being unable to add email accounts and access bbm. I didnt get around to calling him today but he was more than happyto help me when i talked to him yestrday afternoon.

I'll let u guys know how it goes.

I remember back in the olden days when I had telus you had to do this when you bought a telus phone privately haha. fuck those were teh days.

anyone have the Today theme where it shows the calendar on your home screen? i just downloaded one and all it shows are facebook events...(mainly birthdays)
anyone know how to make it so it shows the events that you made on your berry too??
