Odd question, but any of you know where to buy OEM battery covers?
(Besides ebay)

I'm 7.5 hours in and still have 65% battery. Very impressive. On NSC I would be at 20% after 8 hours.

Not a fan of the theming of SuperAOSP tho.

i prefer my CM7 rom..but if u say SuperAOSP has killer battery...then i want to know what is your normal usage on ur phone like..

It probably wouldnt come close to my NexusOne battery life on a CustomRom

Ghostrider and I got roughly 30-40hrs with our regular usage

btw..whats a good case for this phone

I recommend Incipio Feather or Case Mate Barely There

jeff19 07-10-2011 12:36 PM

^ i had an incipio feather for mine and the fit was SLIGHTLY off. annoyed the hell out of me cuz it creaked everytime i held the phone

^ lol now with other phones it's like... "OMG i got 18 hours!! omg omg omg fuck yea!!"

Tim Budong 07-11-2011 12:27 PM

Theres a kernal that apparently can push 24hrs...with some tweaks and such to CPU..possible..but then it wouldnt be efficient

!MiKrofT 07-11-2011 03:55 PM

Yeah gingerbread just kills my battery life. I'm in the OMG I reached 18 hours category now.

willystyle 07-11-2011 06:24 PM

What do you guys use that increases your battery life by so much?

I am using CM7 with Juice Defender Ultimate, and I can get 13 HRS MAX. and thats with practically most connections shut off..

I am on SGS Captivate.

Turn off background data, lower screen brightness, turn off auto sync

can anyone confirm that if i buy a fido locked nexus s and by unlocking it, it'll work on wind?

cctw 07-12-2011 01:06 PM

^all nexus S are factory unlocked regardless of where you buy it..therefore dont need to get it unlocked

3G wont work on wind. only 2G

Fafine 07-12-2011 01:18 PM

^ thanks decided to just keep the one i bought from wind. time to read this thread!!

jello24 07-12-2011 06:37 PM

for better battery life, grab yourself a kernel with undervolting capabilities like Netarchy Nexus S 1.3.7.

I undervolted mine by about -25mV throughout all clock speeds and I'm currently at 60% for 12h 42m with music playing on the commute to work, internet over 3G, email syncing once an hour, and some games and calls.

Keep that battery properly calibrated and with the right kernel, you can push high hours pretty easily.

Had an interesting issue pop up on my phone yesterday and want to share the solution here.

Problem: My Rogers NS was stuck on EDGE, no matter what APN I picked or settings I changed. I even flashed a different radio baseband to test.

Cause: The Cell tower in my area went offline and there was no signal. When my phone reconnected it would not give me a 3G connection. (On the XDA forum people mentioned if you change the data setting to only use 2G, it will also cause this problem.)

Solution: Found the Solution on the XDA forum. On the dialer hit *#*#4636#*#*. Then hit phone info and then menu. In there click select band and pick USA. After doing this my NS was able to connect to the 3G network and all was good.

Anyone know if I can pick up a gel case for the Nexus S at crystal mall? Using the full body armour by Zagg right now, but would love to invest in a good case.

Fafine 07-14-2011 07:45 PM

^ also interested

!Yaminashi 07-14-2011 09:11 PM

I'm tempted to pick up an incipio feather case

taylor192 07-15-2011 06:54 PM

I have a TPU case from Amazon waiting at Point Roberts, $5 and it got great reviews and is slim. I'll post pics when it arrives.

I also got the BestSkinsEver skin today and applied it - not liking it at all yet willing to give it a day or 2 to see if it improves like it says it will. Super hard to get on with no bubbles and dirt, hoping as it dries out some of the smaller imperfections will go away - if not its a waste of $10.

UPDATE: Wow, a night makes a huge difference. The BestSkinsEver skin looks great now, the only imperfections are cause I had trouble applying it and had to remove it and try again. I think if I had applied it properly the fist time it would be perfect right now. It covers the entire phone, minus the buttons, so no bulky case required! Thus I may have a TPU case for sale soon!

I'm looking to use my Fido dollars toward buying this phone, does anyone know if it'll work on Chatr's network? The phone is factory unlocked from Fido right?

Chatr is using Roger's network? If so, I think you should be fine.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
