Whats the difference between all these skins? I've heard of invisible shield, ghost armor etc |

Most of the name brand (aka Zagg/InvisibleShield) skins are overpriced for what you get. Its just a piece of plastic, it shouldn't cost $20-30. On Amazon you can get 5 skins and a TPU case for $10. The BestSkinsEver skin is $9 for both front and back skins. Some skins are dry application (like the plastic protection that comes on a new TV), others are wet application (like tint or vinyl for a car). The dry application skins get awful reviews and only last months before peeling up at the edges. The wet application skins are a one-time use, so if you screw it up (like I did) you have to buy another. Some skins use a slightly perforated material, others have an orange peel type texture, others are anti-glare, .... so this comes down to your preference. I hated at first how the BestSkinsEver skin felt more "sticky" than the bare glass screen, yet I have come to appreciate it when trying to move the cursor finely - its much easier with the "stickier" skin to drop the cursor where your finger is, I always found with just the glass screen the cursor would move when I lifted my finger. The "stickier" surface has not had a noticeable impact on getting in/out of a pocket. After a weekend with the BestSkinsEver skin applied I am hooked. I will order another to get the application right this time, yet even with my failed application it is fantastic to have. I no longer worry about putting my phone in my pocket with my keys/change, or throwing it into my gym bag, or laying it down on various surfaces that may otherwise scratch my phone, ... and I LOVE that it adds virtually no thickness to my phone in my pocket. |
I just got some stuff for my Nexus S. Case: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004KT7ZKA Nice case, slim, flexible, yet I like the BestSkinsEver better so if anyone wants it let me know. $10 obo. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41NvhLKcNML.jpg Car mount: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0031U1AT6 Says its for an iPhone, yet will fit any similar sized phone as it just clamps the sides of the phone. The vent mount is very secure and allows rotation in all directions. Super happy with it, and only $14! http://www.mymac.com/img/features/Ke...nt-6-09-10.JPG |
I'll take the case Taylor. |
did a lot of searching for a case. ended up with a momax case. imo best case out there. fit is good and comes with screen protector. |

so i order the captivate 2.2, not here yet but was wondering is there a big difference in the 2.3 nexus? then the 2.2? and if so what did they really update? i read that with the 2.3. There is still issues with the gps? can you tell the difference in the loading speed from the two? sorry for the noob question |
Most likely trading my 9780 for this later today. If I have a Blackberry data plan it'll work fine with the NS right? |

The Galaxy S line doesn't really have the GPS issues anymore as newer manufacturing and OS updates have solved this. I know because my Captivate picks up a GPS in seconds literally. The Nexus S has NFC (Useless for now) and non upgradable memory of 16gb. Also no flash on the captivate and no 720p on the Nexus S as the camera chipset is a little different. 2.3.4 is available for both devices but the Nexus S has the added bonus of always getting it's updates firsthand directly from Google. 2.3.3 is probably the last official release for the Galaxy S. Mind you with many ppl creating new ROMS this should be a non issue. |

Question to people that played with the Nexus S: My phone is still pretty standard Nexus S. What apps should I look for that you think will make the phone better? I really like the way it is, but looking for something extra if it is that much better. Thanks! |

It's a location and time aware profile app. It uses cell towers to know where you are, so the battery drain is negligible. An example of what it does: When I leave my house it will turn off Wifi, turn on bluetooth. When I come home it will turn Wifi back on and turn BT off. When I'm at work it will switch to a silent profile. During the night from 12am to 6am it will also switch to silent mode. It quite convenient and there are a lot of other things you can set it to do. Best part of all, it's a free app. |

K so the fucking asshole I was suppose to trade my phone for bailed. Now I have someone with a Galaxy S. What are some advantages the Galaxy S has over the Nexus S? |
Galaxy S? Captivate? I dont think there really is any advantage, its virtually the same phone |

everything else aside, the Nexus S will ALWYS have the latest updates on apps and rom from Google b4 it even hits ANY OTHER PHONE..including the SGS2 Nexus S is the raw google experience. no bloat ware..no manufactured locked bootrom..just straight forward android experience on what google intended it to be. Many developers of apps use the Nexus line to test with cuz of that reason |
how often do people actually use their flash?? |

And it just so happens that the flash on the Galaxy S2 is pretty awesome |

I use the flash more than the 16GB of data. I don't have a ton of music (6GB,) and usually only throw a few movies on my phone at a time. |
im really curious to see taylor192's screens post em dude |
