In lieu of the U.S. getting a version of the Galaxy Nexus for $399, many Canadians were understandably upset that despite being so close, they were unable to take advantage of the same offer from Google. Turns out that Expansys, an online retailer with warehouses in Canada, hear our prayers.

The company is selling an unbranded version of the Galaxy Nexus for $419.99. It also turns out that this version is the yakju build, which means it obtains its OTA updates directly from Google (and usually faster than the yakjux variety that Canadian carriers are selling).

Even better, despite the landing page saying the cost of the device is $419.99, when I added it to my Shopping Cart the price lowered to $399.99. Add in HST and $18 standard shipping and, to Ontario, the total cost is $469.94 delivered to your door.

Not sure how long this deal will last, but we figured we’d share it while it’s available. Happy hunting!

Check it out here at Expansys Canada.

AOKP M5 out with the fix for signal drops.

the kernel that comes with it has the fix for the signal drops. If i flashed franco, will the fix still be there?

Nope. Unless Franco's kernel base is updated as well.

*Edit: Faux’s 16m includes the IMM76I patches.

Franco M3 is pretty much stock clock from what ppl said. With that being said, would it be better to stick with faux for battery life?

impulseX 04-30-2012 04:15 AM

went from b27 to m5, and i'm getting signal drops and if data drops, then you pretty much have to reboot the phone to get that working again... anyone else have this problem?

strykn 04-30-2012 01:07 PM

finally got 4.0.4 update :D

twitchyzero 04-30-2012 07:55 PM

got it few days ago...signal dropped completely once so had to reboot
other than that it's smooth..battery seems slightly better optimized but i still have trouble updating some apps error 921(google drive for example)

impulseX 05-01-2012 12:52 AM

just did a restore back to build 27. was getting really tired of the signal drops. very unstable imo for a milestone

I've had the samsung galaxy nexus for about 5 months now but lately I've been getting this message "The mobile network will be unavailable until you restart with a valid SIM card inserted". I phoned telus last night and the rep suggested that I remove the battery and sim crd and reboot it which I already done previously. This did not help at all. Does anyone have a solution for this? Thanks

Armind 05-03-2012 09:59 AM

Using XXKK6 radio right now, seems to fix the signal drops with M5 so far. Better than UGLC1.

edit: nvm, back to uglc1

Read about this error before. Ppl solved by installing "market enabler" app from Google play. I guess just install the app by going to play store on your pc.
