Here is where I am confused. You say your GNexus is messed up and you also do not know what a nandroid backup is (I'm going to assume you are on stock). So why do you care about B30? LOL? :badpokerface:

And like parm said you should definitely try your sim on other phones to make sure where the problem is.

Just flashed to build 30 tonight. No drastic change but one thing I notice which suggests 4.0.4 to be smoother:

eg. With 4.0.3 or earlier, when I pressed the Home button with the keyboard out/up when texting (either via whatsapp or normal SMS), there would usually be a lag where the keyboard hangs around at the bottom of the screen while the home screen has shown up on the top half of the screen already. It wasn't horrendously long but it's noticeable. With 4.0.4, home is pretty much instantaneous, no lag.

Changed radio to UGLA4 and it seems to be working fine for now. :thumbs:

holy crap ICe Cream 4.0.4 is fckin boss.... really smooth, no lag so far, havent had to restart anything or phone hasnt locked up...

UI is wicked, voice texting is 10x better no exaggeration, typing on the keyboard is now noticeably smoother I been texting all day today with minimal missed keys,,, i couldn't get through 2 words without missing a letter before...

thats just the stuff I noticed... only stupid thing so far is i cant get rid of the big ass google search toolbar at the very top

If you updated manually, you should try changing the Euro radio for the North American one.

Install a different launcher. Apex launcher is free and is more or less like the stock ICS launcher.

if you are rooted you can also go into /system/app/ and delete the widget.

Dude, go send your phone out for warranty. You're acting like you don't have any options. Sitting on here isn't going to help.

- What carrier is your phone with?
- When did you buy it?
- Did you try the suggested troubleshoot tips? (checking sim card, etc)
- Have you called 611 to ask about any problems?

Be pro-active...I don't think you're going to get any answers here.

Because he's had this much trouble trying to troubleshoot a reception issue, root his phone, figure out what a Nandroid is, flash a new rom, etc...

I forced an OTA by clearing my Google Services Framework and forcing a check-in.

so you're on a yakju 4.04 update?
try the yakjuux 4.04 radio (or go back to an older yakjuux radio)

I find none of the yakju radios work well with our networks in Canada...always drops connection to Google services.
