tbh, i think it's just fido. i noticed that since january that my blackberry, which was always on 3g, was constantly on edge. i asked them what was going on and they claimed it was because they were doing some sort of internal stuff and it was temporary, but that lasted all the way up until mar.1st when i was finally free from them.

reception wise, i dont see any problems with my gnex

It's "just" Fido...I've had this phone longer than most and am on Fido and have yet to have problems with my icon switching to E other than places where I have really poor reception.

If your logo changes when you wake up every morning, I imagine it has something to do with a power-save mode that you may have enabled in your ROM. Check to see your battery saving settings for sleep modes.

Armind 04-03-2012 08:57 PM

Fuckin Fido pos. Battery saving isn't on either. :(

Simplex123 04-03-2012 11:49 PM

Well isn't that a good thing you're in edge when you don't need it..? Is it at least on H+ when you are browsing the internet or downloading something lol because if only happens when you first wake the phone, I don't get why you're angry.

Armind 04-04-2012 12:11 AM

^ Sometimes it takes forever to go to G/3G/H or out of the sudden the signal drops.

Eclypz 04-04-2012 05:03 PM

I'm on Rogers and I find reception about the same as any other phone I've owned.
My phone is almost always reporting full bars.

PS: Anybody else noticing epic battery life with stock 4.04?

Peturbo 04-04-2012 06:53 PM

Finally on board with Gnex now since my galaxy S decided to die. 4.0.4 is a damn nice update compared to 4.0.2.

RESN 04-04-2012 07:51 PM

Just dropped my galaxy nexus. Does anyone know aproximately how much it will cost to fix the screen?

!MiKrofT 04-04-2012 09:12 PM

Definitely feels faster and seems to have better battery

Simplex123 04-04-2012 11:22 PM

How do I go from custom back to stock? Do I just flash the file from this site as I woud do with any other ROM? The 4.0.4 (IMM76D)? Don't want to do something wrong and brick my phone :S

strykn 04-04-2012 11:27 PM

Easiest way is to make a backup in recovery first before flashing anything just to be safe. That way you can always revert if necessary.

But yes you just flash the 4.04 (imm76d) under yakju maguro on that page in fastboot mode.
The nexus is pretty much impossible to brick if you know what you're doing.

Shitty deal...You'll be looking @ $250-$350 to get the part; probably an extra $50-$80 for labor.

Buy a new phone...

!MiKrofT 04-05-2012 08:43 AM

Yeah the screen is really hard to replace on these new devices if you've never done it before. The glass is glued to the digitizer and requires a heatgun or blowdryer to remove as well the entire phone's gotta be disassembled. Looking at eBay nobody is selling just the glass itself so you'll have to replace the entire LCD+digitizer+assembly which after shipping is $300. Might as well buy a brand new one for $424.

Try reseating your sim card? Otherwise it must be the phone as no one else has reception issues.

Meowjin 04-06-2012 12:53 AM

when does 4.0.4 come out officially?

I'm so phone inclined I have no idea how to root it.

It's really easy to do once you take the time to read the instructions. Best way to do these kinds of things is find a YouTube video because u can pause and watch to make sure you're getting what they are and you're doing what they are.

Make sure you read the description in the YouTube video first so you can check off the things you need before starting.

Everyone has their own way of using their phones. I personally cannot imagine using my phone on a stock ROM. I need to be able to play around with things like themes, icons, tweaks, etc. It keeps the phone new and fresh and exciting. Prevents me from having to buy another phone for a little while longer.

Speaking of, I need to get my hands on an HTC One X.

Armind 04-06-2012 01:14 AM

Miksoft

No work. :(

R5x 04-06-2012 01:19 AM

^Did you try flashing stock yakju firmware and factory resetting/wiping the phone?

Armind 04-06-2012 01:46 AM

Do you have any early nandroid backups? Restore one of those if you do.

If not, take your sim and put it into another phone, you gotta figure out whether it's your phone or the sim before you go around messing with everything else...

Armind 04-06-2012 02:53 PM
