Is there something else I could do that doesn't make my brains short-circuit?

Hacking is not for the smrt.

If you just got the phone, you're probably suffering from "new phone syndrome".
Give it a couple of weeks so you stop playing with it so much.

Phone should easily last a 16-18hr day.

That daily deals site only ships within states?

strykn 03-25-2012 11:03 AM

Anyone know how to fix input lag without rooting to 4.0.4

Armind 03-25-2012 11:57 AM

There is no way.

Daily Steals Today Mobile

Wow, and today they have a 32GB MicroSD for $20. Thats not bad.

Probably a silly question but did you switch radio roms recently?

Armind 03-26-2012 06:08 PM

Nope... Radio is stock

twitchyzero 03-28-2012 02:04 PM

had this phone for a 2.5 months now
there's only been 1 OTA update directly from Google (yakju build)
isn't that pretty darn slow? I thought one of the selling points was constant updates

good search indicate the rollout may start today:

What ROM and kernel do you guys recommend? Installing for a friend.

Simplex123 03-28-2012 10:39 PM

Most here run AOKP. It's fast and smooth and they work hard to iron out most bugs before they release every version for the Galaxy Nexus. I am running Slim ICS which has very similar functions to AOKP except they take stuff out here and there to make the file only 69MB compared to other ROMs which are like 200-300mb. I haven't ran into any bugs so far with Slim ICS so it is definitely recommended.

In that case, I can just use the latest release from here, right? Releases - Releases - News

What about the kernel? Any recommended ones?

He just got his Galaxy Nexus off WIND, so I have no idea what's on it.

Simplex123 03-28-2012 11:29 PM

Yeah I've heard good things about b28 being very stable. I was on milestone 4 myself but it started lagging for some reason that's why I switched.

Razor Ramon HG 03-29-2012 12:00 AM

Stock kernel is fine?

!MiKrofT 03-29-2012 12:05 AM

I'm on Android Revolution 2.1.5 with Faux's kernel. Been too lazy to swap.

Armind 03-29-2012 04:45 PM

reception is still shit. =/

which radio is everyone using?

bobbyhill 03-29-2012 06:55 PM

Currently have the otterbox commuter and as great as the protection is, can't even fit the darn thing in my pockets.

Looking for a nice slim case, preferably aluminium for that nice "finish" . The ones I've seen go for $32+ ..

Simplex123 03-29-2012 08:32 PM

AOKP Build 29 is out! I'm going to be flashing it later. Will report back in a few days.

Please do update.
I expect the first build on 4.0.4 to have a few bugs, so I am gonna hold off till Build 30.
