I'm assuming you want to flash paranoid? The zip file is where you downloaded it to. If you downloaded on your phone, check the download folder in your internal sd memory. I usually download my roms on my computer and move it onto an external SD under a folder called roms.

Don't use ROM manager to download/install ROMs. Just download it from the xda site and copy to your SD card. ROM manager doesn't have a good selection and doesn't always do what you tell it to. I only use it to fix permissions.
And yes nandroid backup is the same as cwm backup

Agreed with what he said. Put the phone into recovery. Wipe data 3 times, wipe cache 3 times, dalvik 3 times, and then install from SD and select the zip from. That's how I do it.

Tim Budong 06-30-2012 10:00 AM

I fully use cwm to do everything. Safest way

R5x 06-30-2012 10:16 AM

lol you don't need to wipe so many times.

If moving to a different rom base you always do a full data wipe/factory reset.
Otherwise, you can 'dirty flash' and just wipe cache and dalvik.

Can't wait until jellybean code gets released then devs can get to work

Armind 06-30-2012 12:29 PM

Does JB fix the shitty ass data issue?

Graeme S 06-30-2012 12:46 PM

There's a data issue?

No data drops after a few days now. Used to get them at least once a day on 4.0.4.

Armind 06-30-2012 03:05 PM

There's so many threads on XDA for JB, i don't know which one to use lol.

Which kernel and radio are you using? My first run only gave me 10hours. Now I'm using faux kernel with the latest jb radio. Signal strength seems a bit better so we'll see. I was using an older radio before which I thought was the latest.

Lol. Exactly. Once is enough. 3x everything is unnecessary.

I believe everyone here is using this one:

[ROM][GSM]Jellybean 4.1 JRN84D: Stock Rooted Busybox Deodexed - v2 (6/29/12) - xda-developers

There's also the jelly beats one which looks interesting as well.

strykn 06-30-2012 03:20 PM

Wait.

strykn 06-30-2012 03:41 PM

:okay:

!MiKrofT 06-30-2012 04:00 PM

Just root and bootloader unlock it. Not like you can't undo it after. Otherwise its only a few weeks.

Armind 06-30-2012 04:08 PM

Oh man, everything looks HUMONGOUS after using PA for awhile. :(

Zordon 06-30-2012 04:16 PM

People on XDA said that ics tend to leave bits and pieces behind so its safer to wipe 3x. I guess no one really had ever backed up the claim.

Indeed. But the awesome smoothness is so worth it.

DanHibiki 06-30-2012 05:59 PM

Im using Franco 207 with the latest radio

I was at 47% about 45min ago, but i snapped at least 30 pictures of their Hong Kong history display, now im at 39%

I unplugged my phone at 9am this morning when I headed to work

Google Now is learning well for me heh. I dont have a picture, but after I googled Dinesty's number. I looked at my phone maybe 10min after and it gave me directions by car and transit to get there from downtown. It's pretty damn neat

Wow that's pretty good. You're netting almost 24hours in the end. I'm getting about 15hours today. ARHD just came out with their 5.01 build which is the defacto standard that I always use so I might just flash that now and let it for for a few days. I'm on Faux's kernel now.

impulseX 06-30-2012 11:17 PM

wow. thats all i can say about jellybean. so snappy and fast. battery seems to be diong pretty good at the moment, although i havent used it very much today.

!MiKrofT 07-01-2012 02:17 AM

OK. Decided to reflash everything.
