I'm having probem disabling Google voice typing. Every time I uncheck it, it will go back to check after some time (or maybe something I did). Thisis on a factory jelly bean image. Never had this problem with ICS

I might just switch to PA. but leave it on phone mode...
honestly....tabletmode is a gimmick to me now on the gnex...
i use PA on my nexus7 and it works wonders

Graeme S 10-03-2012 10:18 PM

I like PA's Phablet. Works nicely for me.

R5x 10-03-2012 10:19 PM

What's the advantage of Phablet mode for PA?

I just use regular phone hybrid mode and just adjust the DPI of a few apps. I agree, tablet mode on phone is not really usable/useful.

the only app i would consider using in tablet mode is chrome

Speaking of Chrome, does anyone else prefer using the stock JB browser instead? I find it renders pages faster, has way smoother panning, zooming, and scrolling than chrome. Aside from the syncing, does chrome actually do anything better?

!MiKrofT 10-04-2012 09:31 AM

The stock JB browser is Chrome..

On the Nexus 7 it is, but not on the Galaxy Nexus and other jb devices.

!MiKrofT 10-04-2012 09:36 AM

Oh hmm.. I thought it was since the menu's were similar.. guess not.

R5x 10-04-2012 09:44 AM

Hmm interesting..
I remember using Bigxie's deodexed rom when it was first released as well and I don't remember it being bundled with Chrome.

Nightmares of sleep of death issues coming back..

Mind you a lot of that could be attributed to crappy software.

In addition to the LG there's probably gonna be an HTC Incredible X Nexus and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2.

shenmecar 10-05-2012 11:01 AM

more rumours today. 1.5ghz quad core snapdragon s4. 2gb ram, 4.7inch ips display, and most interesting of all........wireless charging.

Would definitely not disapprove.

I am, however, mildly disappointed/annoyed at the fact that more companies are moving to non-removable batteries.

stock was okay...but i want sync capabilities
tried firefox...was buggy...especially with hotmail...but then again hotmail was pretty buggy before on my pc's firefox

chrome is good

I do like how the stock browser closes the search tabs ie. i find something on google search..it opens the browser...when i hit back or sleep it goes away..but on firefox/chrome the tabs stay there and i would've to close it manually..i haven't looked into if there was a setting to disable that

would be sweet if that came out with the new 5" 1080p ips screen from Sharp

!MiKrofT 10-05-2012 10:22 PM

The ~5" HTC competes with the Note 2.

And it'll be interesting to see which phones actually make it out to launch. I'm really excited and looking forward to the announcements.

ok continuing woes with mine, this is killin me as I use this app all the time... the google maps and places apps....

lately for about a month now, 9 outta 10 times (no exaggeration) it will be unable to find my current location "Current location temporarily unavailable" keep in mind this happens when I got full 3G bars and for fucks sake even now here in my house with my WIFI on, still unable to locate me....

what's with this thing ?

I dislike this as well. Everyone I tell this to always goes "Who cares! It's not like you take out your battery often anyways."

The fact is that some batteries CAN be defective. If you've got a defective battery its not as simple as swapping it for a new one.

Side note: If anyone is looking for an awesome rom, check out the new liquid smooth release for Gnex. Been using it for a week now with franco milestone 5 and I honestly think this is the perfect rom. Stable, fast, great battery life, tons of customization. Best of all: Everything works flawlessly. With other roms there will always be little bugs here and there but I havent encountered any force closes or hiccups.

twitchyzero 10-06-2012 10:04 PM

^ at this point it's still rumors but the upcoming LG Nexus will likely be taking advantage of this

But if it's a non removable battery then you still are unable to go buy a new battery without sending it in somewhere.

I'd rather have a regular battery that can be swapped by me instead of one that has 300 more cycles available before it dies.

Besides, I'm pretty sure many of us here sell our phones off before needing a new battery

more information please

ROM? (custom or stock? I've had GPS lock issues with some custom ROMs myself)

GPS Status fixes? (gpsstatus app)

on xda developers under Gnexus there's a GPS lock fix thread with suggestions, i'd suggest looking at that as well.
