Definitely not going to get anywhere close to yours. I'll be happy with 8 reps. btw do you know what kind of scale they are going to use for the ubc meet on friday? I'm trying to make weight and I just want to get a feel of how calibrated it is.

From what I know it's going to be your typical bathroom scale. we're trying to get a numerical one so that it's easier to get to the tiny numbers to the right of the decimal

it'll be like a regular meet though where you have the option to strip down to your boxers

Are you right on 74 kg btw? If you're on the list I think I might know who you are

Yeah I'm in the 74kg weight class. Walking around 75.5. Going to try to get down to 73.5 in case my scale is off

yeah i wouldn't stress too much over it though. the scales are usually pretty similar.. I ended up being super paranoid over my weight and ended up cutting 7 pounds less than 163, and was 156 lbs.

First attempt at the bench challenge. Went in after finishing a midterm with less than 4 hours of sleep; tired as hell. I'm full of excuses, but expecting 21+ on the next attempt.

Really did not want to do this while on Sheiko but here it goes. My apologies for the nasty stomach showing...:troll:

Excuses:
- Obviously too fat and out of shape to be doing this
- Did after my Sheiko Week 3 day 1.

In all honesty, I think I can get a couple more reps when I'm fresh. I might give it another run on friday...

Sid Vicious 03-25-2013 06:45 PM

how tall are you? you try a wider grip!

I'm 6'2".. I tried wider grip before, but I am much stronger with a narrow grip for some reason.

red_sir 03-25-2013 07:50 PM

Beast!! That's a close grip bench press in my books, even more impressive!

RS BP Challenge - YouTube

beast! 22 reps.

The beginning looked so easy, looked like u were throwing it around

Sid, i've been waiting for yours. Impress me :troll:

This guy looks like he's just airhumping the weights, too beastly

TouringTeg 03-25-2013 08:11 PM

Should have done 185 instead of 225lbs (weigh 184lbs)
3 reps and then failure. Will do 185 for reps later this week.

lol @ your spotter messing up the rep count. Was it cus he was expecting you to hit 16?

I think it sort of messed up your rhythm too haha

Haha, it kinda did. To be honest, I don't think I would have been able to do more today. I told him that I want to hit 15+, so I guess he though I will stop there. My endurance sucks man. I have not done more than 8 reps on any weight ever since I started lifting seriously again..

Anyone know why the top of my forearm is burning and aching like crazy after doing some biceps? My right arm is completely fine, but my left is bothering me to the point where I can't really write. The pain goes from the brachioradialis (?) all the way down to my wrist.

Kind of worried I might have fucked something up?

Been happening to me a lot too when I do preachers with the ez bar wide gripped. I switched to a close grip and the pain is less intense but I found it that after finishing my set releasing my grip on the bar slowly made the pain almost disappear. So maybe slowly letting go of your weight might help?

Could be a number of reasons... I think theres a kinesiologist that lurks around so he might be of help

But just like rolling out your legs after leg day, do the same for your forearm. Also, a massage therapist would be a very worthwhile investment, and not an investment at all if you have coverage.. Tell them to massage your forearm and itll feel so much better

Could also be weaker forearms, so you can try some exercises like hammer levering. Ask brokenarrow he knows alot about that stuff

Welcome back jc. Tomorrow you have to bench 135 for as many reps as you can, record it, and post the vid for us.

Lots of videos of people's progress in the last 10 or so pages!

Thanks for the suggestions bvu and instantneedles. I'm also leaning towards the lack of forearm strength. This is probably my first time doing a "real" bicep workout, and I went straight into the DTP bicep circuit (~300 reps)
