dammmmmmmm ^^ |
is it rs deadlift day at sc today? Too bad I did mine yesterday... Posted via RS Mobile |
anybody here does some form of boxing/mma? how do you handle the soreness and still lift? I want to re-join muay thai/wrestling after taking a few years off but I don't to become as skinny as I was before. What recovery methods would you guys suggest for me if I wanted to do 3days a week of lifting and 2 days a week of mma training? |

This week has been amazing for me. Hit a squat PR, and just hit a deadlift PR of 405lb :fullofwin: Not sure if should post vid..form is pretty shitty lol EDIT: K here's the video. Back is pretty rounded, but got the weight up! Spoiler! |
well it isnt gonna get better if you dont let people constructively criticize you lol when training its always best to train with humility and accept tips + criticism |

shiet red_sir. you got me beat. Do you have a shoulder injury right now? Some of the reps seemed a little unstable, which is unusual because your form has always been spot on. |

Edit, and I pulled my feet in too close too, that made it hard to balance. |

Lol! I checked out SC but couldn't do it. It was so busy I thought I was at the mall on boxing day. |
Additional rule that halo and I have agreed on: you can post as many videos as you want within the two weeks and we will take the best one. I'll be making a thread to show the rankings of each category. |

Big milestone right there. gratz! you look pretty big in that video |
13 Reps for 225. Checking in at 169 lbs, will probably go up a bit as we go though.. Last rep got cut off because I failed the 14th rep. First video, fcking dissapointed in myself, felt super tired today only 5 hours sleep. Will hit 15+ reps for sure next video |
I have no doubt you can do 15+ on a good day instant. |

I only just hit 315x5 at 5' 8" 160 this week, but I've been on a mass/hypertrophy instead of a power routine the last little while. :okay: Also, I heard that the new crossfit gym at SC has a promo for $50 total for 3 months |

What have I got myself into? Not surprised if I finish dead last in my group this round. Can't wait to do the deads and squats though! |
Don't have the time to post as much will still be around. Squat PR 285x2 yesterday. Can't wait to squat 3 plate! Big 3 lift total 895lbs Will get it in on the bench press challenge soon. Gotta convince a random to record it. |

So I finally plateaued on my squats doing 3x2 at 315 ( 3 plates w00t! ) looking for some pointers, how I can get my reps up. Should i keep doing 315 until I hit a set of 5 or should I drop some weight and restart my 5x5 ? thanks |

If you don't have the mechanics right and you are constantly pushing yourself with weights that are 90%+ of your 1RM, an injury is bound to happen. Some guys can do fine with squatting heavy most of the time doing 3 reps because they've already established good mechanics and know how to maintain their body, if you feel like you have, then go for it Up to a certain level you can add stuff like dynamic effort squats and depth jumps to further increase efficiency of fast twitch muscle firing and explosive power but only when you are elite. I used to squat way to heavy with improper form not because I didnt know how, but because my body wasn't physically capable of doing proper form yet. It just didnt have the mobility and stability in the necessary joint areas for me to do a squat properly. I suffered an injury and it feels fucking bad. Id rather progress slowly and steadily injury free then risk going heavier and heavier and place myself at a higher risk for injury. Posted via RS Mobile |
I squat two days a week one day in the 6-8 rep range and one day in pushing maxes in the 1-3 rep range and it seems to be a good system for me. Pushing up my maxes really seems to help up my rep range at lower % lifts |
