I'm no S&C coach, but I work and am friends with a few, and I think you should build a baseline strength first. Then go into plyos. Squat jumps, explosive half squats, box jumps, depth jumps, sprints, etc. The olympic lifts are too complicated to learn without a coach- time you can spend on working explosive strength.

Walk in all g-code wearing the chains as a necklace & keep the shades on the whole time :fullofwin:

Been working with a new trainer lately, we've been working on getting me squatting without having to be standing on 5lb plates. I wasn't capable of squatting without my heels raising. Been doing tons of calf stretches, jumping ,knee bending, and ankle turning exercises. Tried it out today without plates and did 3 reps @ 245, it felt different, but manageable. My 3 rep max with the plates was 315, so i've got a bit to go but should be caught up in a few weeks.

For the person who asked about jumping, there's basically 2 ways to do it
* Off the balls of your feet, and using your calves. Great for calf development
* Off your heels, and using your quads. Go in the squatting position, hold for 5 seconds, jump using your heels + quads, jump onto your platform, land in squatting position, hold for 5 secs, stand up.

Pretty much any boating/marine supply store will have mooring chains.

If you dislike weights all over the map; avoid Golds Richmond.
