Might have to do some bodyweight work at home or something

Going to be a rough and stressful next 2-3 months for me, wish me luck

:okay:

(and yes, I am drinking right now, I would be a mess if I wasn't)

went through the same recently, but everything worked out for the best in the end. good luck man

2 Plate incline bench for reps, 275 decline for Reps, getting close to 2 plate seated Military press, 110lb flat DB bench.........struggle with 2 plate flat bench :suspicious:  :okay:

Why does my flat bench suck so bad :(

Berz out.

instantneedles 08-02-2012 02:36 PM

that's really weird, your incline is actually stronger than your flat. Maybe you have stronger shoulders and a weaker chest.. that's my guess

Berzerker 08-02-2012 02:45 PM

Mind you I've been working incline hard for a long time now trying to get a super full chest. I also do a pretty wide grip when I bench to really isolate the chest. That and I NEVER flat bench. I was bored today and wanted to test it so I tried it. Got 6 reps@205 but that was a struggle on my last set. lol Then I inclined 90 and 100lb Db's for sets of 8 and 6.

Berz out.

So you did 100 lb db's on the same day AFTER you did the 205 flat bench?
Shit be cray

Berzerker 08-02-2012 03:30 PM

You don't get any shoulder pain from doing heavy decline barbell on top of all that?
I did flat bench, incline dbs, flys and use cables/machine for decline to save shoulders but they still hurt. Stopped doing decline bench long ago because of the shoulder strain. (i do tuck the shoulder blades in and elbows slightly, been refining it for years but anytime I go heavy the next cpl days my shoulders will be sore)

well wide grip or not, the fact that you did incline for so long probably really helped you develop your shoulders more and less for chest...

It's why i try to do both flat and incline... i never do decline LOL

I find decline pointless. Flat bench hits a majority of the lower pec, hitting it anymore makes the chest look like man boobs. Do you touch your chest with incline bb?

i go all the way down on incline, get that stretch and maximum range

Will be touching it to shirt next chest day. I think a vid from T-Nation stated to just go slightly above the chest for full stretch

I take everything in that video with a grain of salt though, he advised to use suicide grip which I'm strongly against.

instantneedles 08-02-2012 08:53 PM

In general, i usually bench less with suicide grip, but i find that i get a much better pump with suicide grip simply cus with suicide grip, the weight travels in a straught line from the weight right past my elbows, and it allows you to focus more on developing chest rather than grip and forearm strength

hal0g0dv2 08-02-2012 09:33 PM

Ya close grip gives me nothing on bench
But my arms are as long as Michael Phelps

The_Situation 08-02-2012 09:36 PM

Alright I've had just about enough of my chicken calves. I'm going to take your advice halo. Calves every 2 days.

hal0g0dv2 08-03-2012 11:48 AM

big calves are cool but one must have shape, its like my friend he is like i have huge legs but its more like a tree on his leg with no shape or definition

instantneedles 08-03-2012 01:23 PM

well-shaped calves > big blobby calves that look like fat
