Watching Louie and Sid's videos motivated me to go to the gym and deadlift today. I don't deadlift much ever since I hurt my back at work, so as expected lower back is weak as shit. Started doing conventional deads and worked up to decent weight but back was getting dangerously rounded. Even tweaked it a little on the last rep. That was enough for me.

Decided to try sumo deadlifts since I still wanted to get more work in. Never did them before but have seen them done on youtube plenty of times lol. Felt a little awkward at first but by the 4th set I set a new PR without too much effort. :fulloffuck:

Really suprised that I can pull more sumo style considering I'm not built like the stereotypical sumo lifter and have never even done them before. Guess the carryover from lots of squatting was the key. So happy right now that I can lift heavy again without worrying about breaking my back. I still plan to do lighter romanian deads and deficit conventional pulls to strengthen my back but cannot wait to see what I can do sumo style in the future.

Fuck this dead lift talk should start doing deads again been about 3-4 months of not doing deads

Ok thanks,

How do you like madlab? I've been thinking of trying out a crossfit gym for a while, but haven't gotten around to paying lots of money to do so.

instantneedles 10-04-2012 06:52 PM

After two weeks of facing books and grindin through midterms, gonna slay the gym tommorow and then go party it up.. it'll be interesting to see if my lifts have changed much

I was curious if anyone was reading it. I told myself i'd never read another celebrity biography again after reading Steven Tyler's, but I think i'll have to break my rule.
