Used chalk today. Grip feels so much stronger without sweat all over the place.

I won't wear gloves, use straps, or belts. I want to see how far I can go completely raw.

An increase in fat percentage will naturally mean an increased tendency to deposit fatty tissues in more common areas such as the abdominals and thighs. For the average guy, u will be depositing it in the abdominals...

remember the main focus of a bulk is not to gain muscle mass, its to gain mass in general, with a bigger portion from muscle mass, not muscle mass in its entirety.

and to ur point of being in bad shape to begin with and being able to "bulk up" with increased physical activity, well thats a bit ironic don't you think? Cus if they have a high body fat percentage anyway, a calorie surplus diet is going to kill him in the sense that most of it will be going into fatty tissue deposit. Sure, he'll be gaining some muscle mass along the way from his lifting, but if he is following a "bulk" type of diet, his muscle mass to body fat ratio is still going to be the same.

it depends on what your definition of bulk is. I took Jas29 as saying he wanted to increase muscle mass in terms of gaining muscle from weight training, not "diet" bulking aka caloric overload

instantneedles 09-01-2012 08:10 PM

oh ic...

cus gaining muscle mass and bulking are two totally non-interchangeable terms

The_Situation 09-01-2012 10:04 PM

You guys are over complicating everything. Eat big, lift heavy, and take a multi.

Excelsis 09-01-2012 11:23 PM

..and fuck heavy bitches

:derp:

Neomop 09-02-2012 12:07 AM

Man, I thought lifting hard through the summer and staying in shape would be good enough to get me ready for the hockey season, but fuarrrrrk.....

Did first drop-in today (first time on ice in about 1.5 months), trying to re-teach your muscles how to react again and to get that elasticity back in my lower body sucks.....especially as a goalie

On the same topic of diet, what would be a better alternative to white rice as a carb source?

I never said that. I just stated what I perceived from reading Jas29s post. gaining muscle mass can be different than bulking, and can mean totally different things. It depends in the context. Not everything posted here is directly related to body building.

strykn 09-02-2012 06:54 PM

Quinoa and banannas have been my only carb sources for over a month now. money in the bank

MindBomber 09-02-2012 07:03 PM

Quinoa doesn't have that much protein, but this is still pretty amusing and we're on the subject so....

I gotta admit the leg routines are intense. I had never done hack squats or calves before. Legs have way more definition now.

How low do you guys go on incline barbell? I find it tough to touch the bar to my chest.
