Did like 3 sets of lat pulldowns then just gave up. I'm contemplating going back in a few hours and finishing off the rest of my workout, or should i just forget about it and move on with my day?

Did you go on an empty stomach? I dunno about you guys but I need at least 2 substantial meals in me before I workout

DC5-S 09-17-2010 02:27 PM

i did back and arms yesterday.. had breakfest before hand but only had 30 carbs from it.. when I was on my last bicep exercise I was only able to curl 20lb dumbbells... lol

It's definitely more than a lifestyle for these guys! They are literally giving their bodies away to it. IMO, I don't find those videos very motivational. Those dudes are just too much. Most of us just want to look good naked ;)

Gained 5 lbs, lost 2% bw so far. Eating a ton of protein and fat, but still probably not enough. Going to ramp up my eating as my lifting progresses

So.. I had a work related accident a few years ago, and recently had a checkup with the Surgeon/Doctor.

I was having trouble with strength and asked him what I could do about it, and he told me to just compensate with pecs and shoulders.

Long Story short, I have half a right bicep and no Brachialus in my right arm....I'm having trouble getting an even build for my arms since that's like half of my upper arm that's missing.

So... Anyone have suggestions for a Shoulder/Pec workout that focuses on strength?
I'm doing Benches, free weight Bench, Incline Military press, Deadlifts, and squats.
I haven't seen much improvement after the first 3 months of working out again.. I can do more weights, but my right arm just drops the weight unexpectedly sometimes. I can't do rows at all, which sucks.

Suggestions?

Also: Been running for the past year. An hour 3 days a week. Crunches with weights, incline situps, Full body workout every other day I'm not running.
I've cut down ALOT on my carb intake to the point where I only eat Meat, Veggies, and Fruits. I stopped drinking Coke, but I'll have the beer every once in a while. My gut is not going away.

I'm stuck at 166. I'm 5'7. I look.. bulky.

More Cardio?

SkinnyPupp 09-18-2010 03:09 AM

If you're running 3 hours a week and doing lots of crunches, I can see why you're not getting anywhere.

Just lift heavy weights and eat lots.

Do you guys know the name of this exercise: it's like a pull up with a wide grip, except the palms are facing inwards towards each other.

nns 09-18-2010 05:47 PM

Yea, that's the one. I've been doing it lately, in place of regular pull ups and/or chin ups.

RRxtar 09-18-2010 05:51 PM

ohh thats what that grip is called haha

i keep calling it "wide parallel grip"

those in a pull down with your body in more lean than a regular lat pull down are one of my favorite upper back exercises

pull down
repeat x8?

i heard that working out legs helps promote growth overall to your muscles and helps them grow faster?
