If you don't care, go for it. Nothing groundbreaking, but a lot of little tweaks were made. This didn't need to be called "6" it probably should have been "5.2" or whatever.

But until Google releases a proper Map app, I wouldn't recommend it. I went for it since I never use maps on the ipad anyway, just my phone

you just make a shortcut icon to maps.google.ca, and turn location services on for safari. its literally the same as having the google maps app from ios5.

works great for me.

No doubt. Had the iPhone 5 for 4 days and Siri wouldn't recognized most of the stuff I said.

I've been using a Nokia Lumia 900 for the past 2 days and it recognized the exact phrases the Siri failed to do so without any issues. I'm actually digging the Lumia 900 and will consider getting the 920. I've always been a huge Nokia fan anyways but they just haven't had anything in a while that was great.

Do you talk with a fucking lisp?

I don't have an issue with talking to siri.

LiquidTurbo 09-27-2012 05:28 PM

Lmao. Siri is pretty forgiving at understanding words.

Battery life is noticibly worse than the 4.

I asked Siri "what are some restaurants on commercial drive" and she replied "sorry I cannot find restaurants on commercial drive"

Same with robson street.

Sold a 16GB unlocked for $870 today :fuckyea:

The guy mentioned he is actually looking for more.
So if anyone still have stock on hand, feel free to give me a PM.

But I did ask him...it's for personal use...so he probably won't
want a bulk sale of 10+ units.

RixLin 09-27-2012 10:39 PM

16gb ones are selling for 950$ on ebay. How come none of you guys selling on there? is there a tax for using ebay or something

Sky_High 09-27-2012 10:46 PM

^ shipping, paypal, risk, etc

If one were to sell on Ebay, I might as well ship them back to Mainland China and yield a much higher return.

I tried. Gotta beware the hijacked accounts.

If you get a message with something like this:

"I'm glad I won your item. I'm currently in NZ at the moment. Please email me at (debrahcolwell@yahoo.com) with the item number as the subject and what is the exact condition of the item? I will be going for a meeting now and will be able to access my email through my iphone, so email me at (debrahcolwell@yahoo.com) with the item number as the subject. Make sure you email me with your email address here is mine (debrahcolwell@yahoo.com) Also add your Paypal email Cheers. Debrah."

It's a scam

When you exchange at the Apple store, do they give you an unlocked one or is it carrier locked again?

I'm going to NYC in a few weeks and realized my iPhone is locked to Rogers (been using Nexus phones for a few years so not used to being locked lol) and probably won't be able to use an AT&T sim. What route should I take if I want to use my phone there?

:seriously:
Of course it will be carrier locked again. Or else everyone would go buy a locked one...and just exchange for a new one at Apple's Retail Stores. You didn't think Apple would be THAT stupid, did you......?

ForbiddenX 09-27-2012 11:34 PM

Well... they did release Apple Maps... they could have messed up somewhere else :D

ie: Verizon iPhones being unlocked out of the box and AT&T iphones being UNLOCKED after a restore.

dangonay 09-28-2012 07:13 AM

So Tim Cook released a letter apologizing for Maps.

But the real kicker? He actually suggested using Bing, Nokia or Google in the meantime if you're having issues. And Apple even explains how to get Google Maps back (the same trick explained in this thread by visiting maps.google.com and clicking on the create icon popup). That must have been difficult for Apple.

Good on him. I think I said it before, but he should do what Jobs did with Bill, and patch things up with Google. Only then can they move forward (from losing Jobs)

Good to see they finally swallowed some pride.

It really was a mess.
