not too sure when, but thats what i heard from a rogers rep. but take that with a grain of salt i guess. they're as reliable as a crack head being on time for work

I spent a week and about 10 calls with retentions before finally sealing the deal with Fido, and I believe it's minimum $25 voice and $25 data to get the iphone 5 on a subsidized price. I asked for the 17.50 voice deal but they said no go, add-ons do not count either (cant do 17.50 voice + caller id to make it over 25 for example). Credits may or may not count, depending on whether the credits were existing or newly added.

Any one has bad signal/reception on the 5 with Fido? Fido has been always full bar at my house for all other phones. But my i5 only has 2-3 bars at home.

Is your previous phone on Fido LTE network or was it on the HSPA+ network?
LTE network has less coverage at the moment when compared to HSPA+

:(

I have a $37.50 500mb data plan with 1 year left. Knowing this, I never want my contract to end!

it's actually enough for me. text, surf, etc.

As long as I don't use it to stream radio for a long period of time or watch a lot of youtube videos it's fine.

I'm on wifi most of the time anyway.

i went to the apple store to get my iphone exchange coz i get random freezes.. they refuse to swap one on the spot for me and say they'll order me a "replacement" unit and they'll give u a sticker to stick on your box with new serial number?? so they won't give me a brand new box/unit even though i'm within 14 days? they said only way you'll get a brand new unit with box and everything is if you refund online on apple and then repurchase and wait for 3-4 weeks!? wtf?

bigzz786786 10-02-2012 01:13 AM

^its not a new phone, its a refurbished one, people who return there phones with either issues or buyers remorse will be cleaned up/fixed, repackaged and sent back out with a 90 day warranty. trust me i know that shit from experience.

DanHibiki 10-02-2012 01:29 AM

^ya the apple guy said it's refurbished.

All the working internals are the same but they replace stuff like the screen and buttons, etc.

terkan 10-02-2012 02:05 AM

i know i'm going to be filing a complaint it's not a warranty exchange... it's a DOA exchange so why am i getting a replacement unit and not a brand new unit within 14 days?

Hondaracer 10-02-2012 07:31 AM

Has anyone had success redeeming the $50 credit for not having your phone arrive?

My 15th business day is tommorow and my phone status still says "in progress" of it's still at that stage tommorow I wonder if I can phone in and get my 50

Didn't you said you bought it from the Apple online store?
Apple retail do not do returns and exchange for Apple online store. They can only do warranty procedures

Where did you get the phone sent to? If it was a Rogers store, try calling them and asking them to check if the phone has arrived yet.

This happened to my wife last week. She called in and the first guy told her to check the shipping status online. The second time she called, the second person actually went to the back to check and the phone was there.

terkan 10-02-2012 03:49 PM

I ended up having to refund my iPhone.. The person from apple online store is just as bad. Telling me what's wrong with having a replacement phone when a lot of ppl doesn't even have theirs yet? I'm asking her what's wrong with asking for a brand new phone when I paid full price on it and its only been10 days since I bought it and its defective. The replacement unit comes in a stupid black plastic box. I won't have a matching box with sn and imei. And might run into issue when trying to sell or if my phone doesn't turn on and I need the serial number... I mean if you are going to ship me a phone with no original box.. Can I refund the phone with no box and stuff then? Gimme a break..

Lol. Searced in Vancouver. Ended up in Louisville Kentucky.

MarkyMark 10-02-2012 04:59 PM

Has apple peaked? And if they have is their brand loyalty so strong that it won't matter?

Hondaracer 10-02-2012 05:00 PM

So is that 15 day thing actually just based on shipping? I can't find anything in the fine print and I thought for sure it was worded like "have your phone in 15 days or $50" bla bla bla

Called the Rogers store in guildford and they don't gave it yet

anti_rice 10-02-2012 05:28 PM

it's 14 days from release date or reservation date whichever is later. The iphone 5 must also be activated on that plan to recieve the $50 credit. The credit will show in 2 or 3 statements.

dangonay 10-02-2012 06:00 PM

iOS has hit 60% adoption on iPhones, 45% on iPads and 39% on iPods in less than two weeks after release.

No wonder developers still prefer iOS by a ratio of more than 2:1.

buhdeh 10-02-2012 07:54 PM

Lol. That's funny cause its more of a downgrade than an upgrade. There's literally nothing that it improved on my iPad and it got rid of a perfectly fine maps and YouTube app. Half the people in my office are intentionally holding back from upgrading until Google maps gets released, lol.
