how is Three compared to the rest these days?

I was just at future shop here in Langley and they have a lot of black 32gb in stock but the chick said they aren't aloud to sell them off contract...,

Also was wondering if the apple stores have the iphone5 cases on stock yet I checked best buy and FS and they both have shitty selections of cases mostly chick style ones.....

E-zone magazine did 3G and 4G comparison last week...
so far Smartone has the best 4G coverage, but poor in the North side of the city. Other providers claim will get better when they update their 1800mhz within 4 weeks.

3G network in HK:
Three is still the worst, I get 1500kps in all areas
CSL gets 6-8000kps in the city
Smart is similar to CSL, but very poor reception in the Kowloon and HK east side

Never tried PCCW, maybe somewhere in between?

Using 15 streams, I get 10 Mbps with PCCW no problem (10,240 Kbps)

I tried 3 before and it was REALLY slow

When my landline contract is up, I will probably subscribe to an LTE tether plan. Although without unlimited I don't know if that would be possible. I use a lot of bandwidth since that's how I get all my media...

PCCW seems pretty good, the gf is using Three and it's pretty bad..might tell her to switch over to PCCW than.

The infrastructure is good, but as a company they are evil and shady as fuck. Be VERY wary when dealing with them. Make sure she is confident and willing to stand up for herself. They will try to bully the fuck out of her.

speak English if you are dealing with the customer service, you always get what you ask for. LOL it works for me all the time when I was using their netvigator.

Anyway, back to iphone...I am hoping the non-smartone companies will get 1800 and 2600 asap

Well, finally got a replacement 5 for mine that came with a loose, sunken camera and marks around the bezel.

Replacement one had 1 minor scuff, and some overspray/excess anodizing, but it was time, and I don't feel like going through any more replacement phones.

Disappointed in the QC on these phones for sure, but I still love my iphone :fullofwin:

has there been an explanation why phones are coming outta the box scratched?

I've been using Smartone for the last two weeks and the data rates are pretty good for pre-paid.

Ya I hope with the new iPad mini the black anodized one is not fucked up out of the box too. The mini iPad is being made in brazil so hopefully quality control will be at least be a bit better

if i shake my phone, or tap the top of it, it sounds like something is loose.

Also I think the speaker stopped working yesterday for some reason.. the ringer was up but i wasn't hearing any ringing sound when i was getting a call.

I got something loose too. apparently it's the power button.

Yeah my power button is loose too but I think it's a common thing on these iPhones I guess

i think the iphone 5 is poorly built and the QC is terrible on it... i've never had a launch product with so many DoA exchange already for no reception, unable to activate, loose components etc etc etc... and it's awesome.. i bought all the accessories for it and now i just refunded my iphone 5 coz they refuse to give me a brand new one for exchange.. oh and regardless of what they tell you about the replacement phone is new parts etc etc.. the first replacement phone they got for me.. it has fingerprints all over the phone and the phone's data wasn't wiped... so please don't try to convince me the phone is new... i'm sure some of them are.. but a lot of the replacement phones atm are just phones ppl returned with cosmetic blemish on them -.-
