I use it for my wireless headphones. That's about it.

Alatar 03-31-2013 08:09 PM

My BT is always on. Never bother toggling it.

As for wifi/data, again, don't really bother toggling either, since I have 6gb data.

Bought that bumper and it works perfectly

Is there any app or does the phone have a fuction where I can limit on what programs can use my celluar data?
I cheap out and switch from my 2GB data plan to 400MB since I use WiFi mostly but my usage is around 388MB so that might cause me to go over if I am not careful. I most just want What'sApp, Facebook messanger (not the facebook app) and E-mail to receive data but the rest can wait till I am using wifi.
I try using easy battery only select the apps I want to use but it seems to shut off celluar network as well.

Are you guys using LTE? How are you finding battery life on it? Which kernel are you using?

I'm finding battery life to be pretty crappy. I get about 12 hours with about 1.5hrs of screen time before it's in the red. This is just mostly web surfing, facebook and some camera use.

I find it's about the same on LTE and HSPA+. I'm currently on Franco's kernel and stock rom and it's still about the same battery life. Although it seems to use less battery on standby than the stock kernel.

Any ideas? Other kernels or roms I should try?

Simplex123 04-01-2013 11:10 AM

I'm on LiquidSmooth 2.1 + matr1x 8.0 kernel getting about 30 hours with 3.5-4.5 hours screen time. I find Liquid to be much more stable than Xylon and offers an adequate amount of customizations. On wifi about half the time with sync and GPS off when I don't need them. Froze maps with TI backup and turned off facebook locations and notifications off because those two can often drain your battery because they are always running in the background even if you kill it.

Armind 04-01-2013 11:50 AM

Question. Does PA or Franco let you have LTE speed back?

Haven't rooted my phone since purchase. This data stall is pissing the fuck out of me.

Graeme S 04-01-2013 11:52 AM

IIRC LTE is in the radio, which you can flash separately of any ROM. But if I'm remembering right, then the LTE-enabled radio will be an older version and you won't be able to update to a newer one.

So if you suffered from data stall on your older updates, you still will.

Ch28 04-01-2013 01:07 PM

Has there been no resolution to the data stall? :(

FerrariEnzo 04-01-2013 07:04 PM

what do you mean data stall???

I was thinking of trying Bell's Pay As You Go plan
$0.75/month
$5.00 for sim card
$25 for 500mb data
$10 1 time credit
No Activation or any other charges...

Im seeing if this 500mb is enough for me.. I plan on doing Wifi calling (only if I need to call anyone).. but mostly will be sending Whatsapp msg.. as thats what Im mostly doing right now...
Wind internet is really annoying me... So I was going to try this out for 1 month and see how it is.. my call usage is less then 50mins AT most... I have WiFi I use at work/home....

BTW, anyone know the link to get the radio to downgrade android to use LTE again?

If you are out of LTE area, its drops to HSPA... so are you sure your in LTE range?? are you on LTE only with the LTE apn settings?

I played with my friends N4.. we put on LTE (LTE only with LTE apn) and it hits 22Mbps consistantly with fast uploads.. we switched back to HSPA (WCDMA with reg APN) it avg 6-8Mbps... so there was a huge difference..

Details? What does it do, exactly?

I'm going to try to explain, but I only purchased it last night so I'm still pretty new at the whole Tasker thing myself, but the possibility is limitless. In a nutshell, it's a phone automation app that allows you to automate a lot of the functions of your phone. It has great support (albiet only one developer) and they recently updated to the Holo UI. You can probably replace a lot of the apps in your phone right now if you know how to set it up properly. To give you an example of how it could be used, these are some of the things I have set up:

-When my earphones are plugged in, my music application BeyondPod will start automatically and start playing music

-I have a profile set up to recognize the cell towers near my work. When I am at work, it turns on the wifi (turns off 3g). When I am not in range of my work cell towers, it turns off wifi and turns on 3g.

-When USB is plugged into my phone, screen dim delay is set to 5 minutes. Unplugged, back to 15 seconds

-GPS is turn on when Maps and Navi app is opened, toggled off when they are closed

-In the morning after my alarm is snoozed Reddit will automatically open and Beyondpod is opened+playing at the same time

There are way more functionalities that I haven't even been able to get into yet. I have read of some guy that takes the train from work everyday, and he would have to message his wife to pick him up. He set up Tasker to message his wife 10 minutes before he arrives at the station, along with which station he will arrive at (because he takes different routes). Crazy!

It's like a ... programming app with a user interface for your phone. Read up on it.

And here's what I use while at work:

Perfect for using whatsapp. Buttons like ctrl+x/c works ... so does alt+tab and esc

Is the screen always on? I use vnc connection so I see the phone on the desktop instead.

No. The screen still follows dim delay set by your phone.

Which VNC do you use? From the VNC I've tried they always tend to lag due to info still needing to transfer from phone to PC. Using this method, everything is essentially done on the phones end so there is zero lag.
