found out what the problem was.. I need to change ownership...

chown -R media_rw.media_rw BACKUPS

putting that into the psuedo terminal in TWRP worked...
this is for anyone else having this problem.
I think keeping a copy of the nandroid backup on my pc is best, incase something wonky went wrong on the N4...

Interesting, this happened to my gf's S2 on ICS before. I did a full wipe and reflash and it fixed the issue.

got it on feb. 6th

it shipped on the 19th and was delivered on the 20th

kinda iffy about the case atm because I cant feel the side buttons at all so i accidently turn off my phone when i try to screen off :okay:

Graeme S 02-26-2013 12:48 PM

I saw on amazon that some guy took an exacto knife and made a slit at the top and bottom of the button cover and got better response. I'm going to try that when mine comes in.

!MiKrofT 02-26-2013 06:24 PM

Hmm. All my cases came in. Dunno which to keep lol.

Currently have: Poetic Borderline Bumper, Ringke Fusion, OEM LG Bumper, Fake LG Bumper.

I kinda wish the Ringke wasn't so chunky. The LG bumpers feel and fit great but are slightly bulkier than the poetic.

My friend in Taiwan wants a Nexus 4 but its not available there. I am thinking about bringing one back for him. Can anyone confirm stock rom comes with Traditional Chinese display as an option? I ask because not all rom comes with all the language support.

Yes it does, stock Google ROMs come with every language, like iOS

Do you guys think I can RMA my phone even if I have a little crack on the bottom of the screen that I made a month ago? My bottom microphone stopped working today so I know it has nothing to do with the drop/crack.

dyan 02-28-2013 08:58 PM

New xylon rom is terrible. Getting worse battery than with the old one .

Good thing I'm still on nightly from Nov.23 with Franco R90. Battery life is great and no bugs.

So I've been looking online and have found out that the 'ideal' resolution for any nexus wallpaper is apparently 1436x1196. Yet one of my problems is that even when you have a wallpaper that size, you still don't get all of the image--you end up with a buffer zone on either side and do the top and bottom. I only ever use my phone in the standard orientation, and what I'd like is to figure out how many pixels on either side I need to put a black 'buffer' in order to make sure that I can get an entire picture into the standard scroll area.

...Not sure that makes sense. I want to set a picture as my wallpaper and make sure I can see the whole thing as I scroll through my homescreens, instead of having pieces chopped off at either side. Hopefully that makes more sense. And no, I'm not looking for an app, I'm looking for how to black box an existing image.

-edit-
Just tried 1436x1196 and that's not the right resolution. GOOGLE, :yuno: MAKE IT EASY TO USE EXISTING PICTURES AND MAKE YOU LETTERBOX IT PERFECTLY TO MATCH RATIOS.

Won't let me letterbox an existing pic to fit like I want it. Looking for a black border around an existing picture so I can frame/adjust it instead of cropping an existing one.

:okay:

Simplex123 03-01-2013 02:05 PM

Nova launcher crop. On the bottom left when cropping you can set it to portrait only. And also turn wallpaper scrolling off

!Yaminashi 03-01-2013 03:29 PM

If you're wanting the wallpaper to be static, use an app called "crop wallpaper" from the market

Posted this in the S3 thread but seeing as this is an AOSP app

Anyone using the AOSP Calender app have this issue where the colors of your calendars look different on your computer and phone?

E.g.

Calender that is RED on the web version of Google calenders is Maroon on my phone
Calender that is BLUE on the web version of Google calenders is Navy on my phone
Calender that is ORANGE on the web version of Google calenders is Bronze on my phone
