I can't imagine Kessel was in good enough condition to start playing the final stretch of a season and playoffs

Hondaracer 03-08-2024 02:11 PM

Also probably came down to, as a depth player, do you want Podkolzin or do you want Kessel? For a 4th liner who is in game shape it’s probably a no brainer

bobbinka 03-08-2024 03:23 PM

well, they sent Podz down today at the last hours, so i think they actually were trying to do something.

AzNightmare 03-08-2024 03:57 PM

Did Kessel want more than min salary?

bobbinka 03-08-2024 04:06 PM

That was my guess as well

That would be ridiculous ... cuz I'm sure it came with all you can eat hot dogs at the Stadium. Glad it didn't work out.

Hondaracer 03-08-2024 04:38 PM

Don’t know if we’ve ever felt the west get this much better when across the board everyone was already pretty good to begin with prior to the deadline.

Going to be a hell of a first round. If anyone has a hookup for tickets to playoff games let me know I’ll buy a pair and I’m not a headache

pastarocket 03-08-2024 09:26 PM

The Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal ended up revealing the sudden change of direction in this plan. Kessel was willing to spend some time down in Abbotsford for a conditionning stint, while the Canucks intended on playing down in the AHL and have him as a backup if needed be:

Dhali says I heard last week that something could have gone south with Kessel's camp. He wanted a conditioning stint in Abbotsford, but Canucks wanted to waive him then send him to Abbotsford

Pretty sure Kessel didn't want to run the risk of getting claimed on waivers since he only came to Vancouver to play under Tocchet, or so I read.

AzNightmare 03-09-2024 03:29 PM

is the game going to be on CBC live streaming tonight?

spoon.ek9 03-09-2024 05:40 PM

You'd have to sit in my lap at my computer and it's a tight squeeze in here believe me!

Looks like things are clicking for the Canucks again (watching wrestling so can't check out the game)

If Demko goes out for long they're fucked though

bobbinka 03-09-2024 07:48 PM

if he's injured... GG to playoffs

pastarocket 03-09-2024 08:09 PM

The Official 2023/2024 Canucks & NHL Thread

Tomlinson mentioned during the game that one of the refs asked Demko if he was okay. -asked him if he can continue playing.

Maybe they heard Demko groan in pain?

Solid ass victory tonight for the team! Jets were definitely tired but we still have them next to nothing all night long.
