They're young and healthy and they have a talented roster with a smart coach in a condensed schedule. That's what happened.

As for Lakers, I'd say first round exit if the roster stay the same. Even if defense is more valuable in the playoff, they just have zero offense to rely on outside Bryant and maybe Bynum. Defense doesn't win championships if you can't get buckets on the other end.

If only Mitch can pull a coup d'tat and swing Gasol and Bynum for Howard and Williams.

I mean, I know he is playing well, he has excellent court vision, and he's strong with the ball. But, for some reason i'm very apprehensive about him.

Nash has never been a defensive player, whereas Lin has the tools to be a decent one. Lin reminds me more of Tony Parker before he got a jumpshot. Teams are going to start forcing him to go left and going under the screens to make Lin beat them from the outside, rather than causing havoc in the paint.

Lin has done pretty well against upper echelon guards (give or take Fisher, Rubio is doing well in his first year). It really is too soon to tell if he can keep this up, but these numbers are somewhat hollow because (maybe even in spite of) the loss of Melo and Amare. His production could stay the same if they share the ball though

Keeps the dribble alive like nash. I like the comparison because Lin plays so well with the pick and roll just like how nash used to do with Amare.

It's all about his demeanor and mentality to penetrate regardless of who's in the paint. I would rather have a point guard that penetrates, which increases the chances of either getting fouled or finding an open team mate (rose,Westbrook,paul -like) versus than a point guard that stays on the perimeter and chucks up threes (Calderon :heckno:)

It was a close call but I think the winner shouldn't be decided by a 5 second violation call. Can't the refs review the tape? No, he's not complaining about the Lakers/Hornets/Rockets deal that was vetoed; Yes, he is complaining about the trade that sent Eric Gordon to the Clippers. I think what you are failing to understand is that he has every right to do so, since he is currently one of the 29 owners of the Hornets...If a man owns an organization, he has every right to complain about a move they made, correct? He is simply stating his opinion that the Hornets would have been better off letting Paul walk instead of trading him for a beat-up Eric Gordon (who by the way is probably done for the season after only playing 2 games this season) and a draft pick that probably isn't going to be nearly as good as people had first thought. This would have saved them tons of cap space.

I've already explained this but I will explain again. In the Chris Paul trade, the Hornets would be giving up only Chris Paul's contract. They would, however, be taking in Kevin Martin's, Luis Scola's, and Lamar Odom's contract. That means they are taking in over $40 million worth of extra cap space...Who do you think is going to have to pay for the luxary tax? The owners of the Hornets, right? Do you know who owns the Hornets? The 29 other owners of teams in the league...Again, do you think it's fair that other owners have to pay for the Hornets going over the cap? No, that's not fair at all...The other owners have only one interest in the Hornets and that is to sell them. They don't give a shit if they are good or bad, and the last thing they want is to pay extra money for them going over the cap...I hope that clears things up for you.

Seems like you know alot about the numbers and since Cuban is complaining about the trade to clippers.. What are the Hornets cap right now after shipping chris paul out to the clippers? are they over it already that the owners will now have to pay the luxury tax? Cuz I know Kaman is on his last year of his contract so he'll be out by next year. The hornets get 2 young guys in Aminu and Gordon (who is pretty damn good and will get healthy) and a first round pick from the Wolves which I'm sure will be a lottery pick and their own pick. So that's some great pieces to attract a buyer.
