No. I like it the old school way.
Spurs is obvious but I think Boston has a chance. Good, tight group and one of the better coaches.
Plus, there's nothing like a Garden crowd who smell a banner is close.
How is Boston winning a Cinderella story? Don't think I am understanding here.
Isn't a Cinderella story where a low seed team goes deep into the playoffs and make a run? e.g. Memphis last season?

Boston isn't exactly high seeded. And I meant winning the cup, not winning the current series. I'm confident they will handle Philly at home. If they don't then we can see the Lakers and the Celtics getting blown up at the same time. Fun!
Cinderella phrase was used loosely btw. Don't get too worked up :)

Shaq said today that he has no interest in Orlando's vacant general manager position.
He makes sense as some kind of owner, ambassador, or consultant for the Magic, but he knows he's not prepared -- or willing to take on -- the massive role of GM.
"When I first heard about the vacancy for the Orlando Magic general manager position, I was clearly intrigued. However, this is not a job I have an interest in pursuing. I feel very fortunate to be with TNT and to have the best job in sports."
NBA 1st-team:
Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Dwight Howard.
Bosh still hasn't resumed basketball activities.
Even if the Heat are pushed to a Game 7, Bosh sounds extremely doubtful. Although his strain has gotten a lot better, he's only been able to do core exercises and ride a stationary bike so far. Both Bosh and the Heat are declining to give a target date for his return.
Granger will play in Game 6 today.

Indiana is outrebounding Miami 20-10 and getting points in the paint. It's only a two point lead for the Pacers thanks to D-Wade's 26 points in the first half.
If LeBron gets his game going, watch out. Miami can close out the series tonight. It's anybody's game now.

but what a chump this whole series this guy has been, he just exposed himself to everyone, and everyone is calling him out on it.... walkin around for some reason with a chip on his shoulder and seemingly he's the only guy on the team with it, wantin to fight people left n right gettin in every one's face, talkin about not backin down from nobody.... HE, the Pacers turned this into a physical series and now I see him bitching crying to the media about the two retaliatory fouls by Haslem and Pittman....
I saw on TMZ there was some kind of altercation with some PAcers outside a Miami nightclub, and the only guy running around like a gorilla beatin his chest was Danny fuckin Granger... this dude's a clown

LeBron and Wade seem a lot more focused than last year, I see the Heat getting their first chip this year with LeBron being the Finals MVP.
Thunder are easier to beat so Heat better hope that Thunder somehow make it to the finals (which I don't think will happen), because the Spurs are gonna be extremely tough to beat in the Finals, gonna be a real test for the Heat.... because Spoelstra vs Popovich, come on now, lol
I'm seeing flashes of Cleveland LeBron these last few games, only difference being back then he had Mo Williams as his running mate... right now he has Wade... so think about that for a second... a Cleveland Monster with Flash as his running mate, who's gonna stop them ? this is some MJ & Scottie level shit if they can do this year after year every playoffs.

Tiago splitter was outplaying him in the last couple of weeks in the regular season, he became the first big off the bench. Since the Spurs traded for Diaw there isn't enough playing time for Blair , Bonner plays cause he helps space the floor. This Spurs team looks unstoppable right now 30 for their last 32 their last loss was in April lol, reminds me of the 2001 Lakers dropping only 1 game throughout the playoffs and it took Iverson 48 points to steal game 1 from the Lakers.

His role diminished when Boris Diaw joined the team....That said, we might see more of him against OKC, as Pops is well aware of the success that Blair has had against the Thunder in his brief career....As a rookie in 2010, he posted 28 & 21 against OKC and he posted 22 & 11 this season....

It is not that he has no cartilage, but rather that he has no ACLs....There is quite a difference....
That said:
During his high-school surgeries, Blair's doctors did not purposefully remove his ACLs....the going theory is that they tried to repair some partial damage to the ligaments and failed. Then, over time, Blair's ACLs deteriorated to the point of disappearance. Since this was a gradual change, his muscles and other ligaments could have adapted slowly to the added strain. Without such an adjustment period—if his doctors had simply cut out the ligaments, for example—it's likely he would have injured himself on the court quite rapidly.

A good article about the Miami and Boston series:
NBA playoff preview: Eastern Conference final - sportsnet.ca (http://www.sportsnet.ca/basketball/2012/05/27/nba_playoff_previews_eastern_conference_round3/)
Summary of article:
A battle of two teams with players playing hurt and key players injured. Who's gonna be missed more by their team? Bradley or Bosh?
Some interesting matchups between these teams:
Garnett vs. Haslem.
UD40 needs to make those mid range jumpers in order to clear up the lanes for D-Wade and LeBron. Haslem will be the main defender on KG. I agree with the author of this article. It's gonna take a collective effort from Joel Anthony, LeBron, and Haslem to guard Garnett.
D-Wade vs. Allen.
Rondo, Pietrus, and Allen will defend against Wade. Zone defence from the Celtics. -don't see Allen defending Wade all by himself.
The Heat's secondary players like Haslem, Chalmers and Miller must make their open shots with the Celtics playing a lot of zone to slow down James and Wade.
Battle of the Coaches: Doc Rivers vs. Spoelstra.
This could be the matchup that determines the series. -will be really interesting to see which coach comes up with the best game plan and adjustments to advance to the Finals. Doc has been doing a good job in getting the most out of this aging, hurt team. Which coach is gonna outcoach the other?
Prediction: I see Miami going back to the Finals, in 6 games over Boston.

Who's gonna be missed more by their team? Bradley or Bosh?
That's a dumb question IMO....If Bosh was healthy and playing, we wouldn't even be talking about who's going to win this series as it would be a given that the Heat would take it....While Bradley is good, he is still nothing more than a role player, while Bosh is a guy who the Heat can, and often NEED to, run their offense through...In all reality, if Bosh was playing, he and Garnett would simply cancel each other out....

Although I am picking Miami to defeat Boston, I think this series is going to be much closer than what some people predict. Boston's zone defence has worked before against the Heat.
KG is gonna have his way with Miami. A collective effort of Heat players will not stop this guy. Rondo and KG are the keys to a Boston victory. That being said, I think that Haslem and Chalmers will be the players who step up their game to be the difference in this series. If Boston doesn't protect the ball well, their turnovers will mean easy transition points for the Heat. The Heat win this tough series, in six.

Both games came in crushing wins ... I'm still rooting for the veteran C's to take it to the Heat even though it's unlikely the way that LBJ and Wade are playing right now ...
As expected, Coach Popp proves he is one of the best coaches alive right now, precision time-outs and makes full use of his bench, something that Brown should learn from, he's no Zen Master that's for sure lol ... People gotta be careful about jumping on the Spurs bandwagon in regards to them VS the Miami Heat.
It's good to see an older team schoolin the youngins, but Spurs have had their dynasty, it's time for a new team to begin theirs.
The Spurs best weapon is their passing, but all that goes down the toilet when Wade, LeBron and Battier begin suffocating passing lanes at the top of their game. And when that happens the only adjustment Pop can really make is either go old school with dump the ball to Duncan on the left block, or the more obvious and likely one is giving Parker the green light to create things on his own. At that point I FUCKING HOPE Spoelstra is smart enough to put LeBron on Parker so he can shut him down like he did Derrick Rose last year.
That's the finals for me right there honestly, I see it going down that way.

At that point I FUCKING HOPE Spoelstra is smart enough to put LeBron on Parker so he can shut him down like he did Derrick Rose last year.
That's the finals for me right there honestly, I see it going down that way.
I don't know how many people saw the Spurs making it to the finals this year, I myself saw the Thunder and Heat as did many others, but I mean wow, did the Spurs tighten the fck up this second half of the season or what, gotdamn!
Lebron can shutdown parker and maybe Wade on Ginobilli but Duncan, although much older now, is still 100x better than Boozer if you are comparing the Bulls. Also with Bosh likely out for the rest of the playoffs, they can't contain Duncan with the likes of Haslem and Pittman. Plus their bench is running 10-deep now with everyone contributing.
The Spurs defense is their bread and butter so no need to mention that but damn their offensive system and passing is beautiful to watch, open 3's all day long!

Huh? Bosh likely out for the rest of playoffs? I haven't heard such thing...They haven't even looked that far ahead yet....but I would guess that he'd be able to return in at least another 2 weeks....

I get where you're going with that, but it would have made sense only years ago, not now.... you sayin Heat shut down Parker and Ginobili so Pittman or Haslem or Battier won't be able to contain Duncan. Well yea ok but that's the thing, everyone knows that almost all of Duncan's offense last few years comes from Parkers space creating abilities, making Duncan exclusively a pick and pop/roll player (mostly pop)
you can't put Duncan on the left block like you used to and tell him to go and have a consistent go at a hoop almost every posession, he's not that guy any more and there is no bigger evidence of this than the fact we haven't seen a patented Duncan bank shot where he sets up an iso for himself probably this whole playoff series.
So if Parker and Ginobili are shut down (the two creators on the team) Duncan is gonna be left alone to do something he really hasn't been able to do in years, consistently score off his own shot creation. Even against Haslem or Anthony or Pittman it won't come easy, and seeing how well Battier defended David West who's a similarly deadly midrange jumpshooter like Duncan in those last 2 games of that series I wouldn't be surprised if they put him on Duncan for a bit to throw him off
And Spurs defense is pretty good I know they rotate pretty well for older team in a half court set, but they are pretty bad in transition defense because of old legs always trying to slow the defensive pace because of this and guess who the best transition offensive team in the world is.... the Miami Heat...
and yea like ballguy said, Bosh has already had his first light practice with the team, he's back in the finals for sure, possibly this series too but the way the Heat been playing they don't need him just yet, they're killin the Celts

And on the Thunder Spurs series what that has me stumped there, I don't understand Russell Westbrook reverting to what he did the other year where he literally fcked with the pace of the game and shot his team's way out of the playoffs. Your best bet as a young running team is to run and gun against the Spurs hit them before they get in their defensive positions, you got to be an idiot not to notice how the Spurs are always trying to slow the pace down on defense and there's a reason for that..
I know Durant dropped 30, but it was a quiet 30 if you could call it that, the first 3 quarters of the game he was just doing a shitload of running and not a lot of touches, he needs to get way more touches throughout the whole game, keep him warm all game long. Instead of Westbrook dribbling around like a moron most of the game and then when the game is literally about to be lost you go "Oh fck, 1 quarter left double digit deficit, here's the ball Kevin, can you bail us out you scoring champ you?"
I'm really starting to doubt Scott Brooks as a coach now more than ever
and Westbrook guarding Parker has not worked, it just wears Russell down going through all those picks chasing Parker around to the point where he gets tired on the offensive end and settles for bad shots. I don't think anything can be done there except maybe keeping Thabo on Parker exclusively since you don't need his offensive output....
also Harden on Ginobili hasn't worked one bit, and they're fucked there absolutely nobody that can guard Ginobili on Thunder's roster... but I think they can shut down one of the two, either Tony or Manu, I would personally go with Tony I think anyone would.
also Russ's shot output I really wonder what the Thunder would look like it it was limited to 15 shots a game, the 20-30 shots a game Westbrook puts up is ridicilous when you consider the percentage that fall.
from all the ball games I've ever personally played I know if I score an efficient 20 points in a game, something like 8 of 11 shooting that my team is a lot closer in the final score than when I drop 40 on something like 14 for 30... you don't have to be a pro to understand that you can shoot your team's way out of a game single handedly

I still think as of right now in the last few games and most of the previous series, Tony Parker has been better than Westbrook. Also you can't count out Popps, against Spoelstra? :fuckthatshit: ... Heat are the best offensive transition team because of Bron and Wade, if Popps can setup the system the way they want and not give up too many turnovers they should be good.
Look at this series, making Scott Brooks look like an idiot. As a casual fan even I can tell that OKC are working their butts off for every basket, or resorting to low % lobs from an exhausted Westbrook while the Spurs seem to have all the time in the world to setup every shot, their ball distribution is amazing. If Westbrook is having such a tough time with Parker I don't see how Chalmers being much of a difference maker. They would be forced to put James on him, but Popps knows how to utilize his entire bench. He's getting production down to the 10th man!

Rondo only stopped wearing the headband because the NBA instituted a new rule where it couldn't be wore upside down (the logo)

I think we cant really judge the spurs/thunder, and boston/heat series just yet, until we see how the thunder and celtics play at home.. remember the point of the 2-2-1-1-1 format is to win at home first, and try to steal road wins.
As for the finals 2-3-2, im not really a fan of that. I think the heat got screwed last year because losing one of the first two games puts extreme pressure on your team when you gotta play the next 3 games away, and possibly facing elimination.
Thats why Miami decided this year to end off with a lower record then OKC or Spurs, cuz they know they would meet one of them in the finals. :troll:

Westbrook was shooting bricks last night. 10pts
but was otherwise stellar, with 7 boards, 9 dimes, 4 steals, and 2 blocks....
The difference, however, was Thabo Sefolosha....played 36 minutes, was a monster on defense, got 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 steals...
What's interesting is that his minutes came at the expense of James Harden and not Derek Fisher...

Wesbrook went 5-15 last night yea missed quite a few, but that is very tame for him, also no trips to the line clearly shows he wasn't trying to force the issue like usual. He usually hovers around the 25 shots attempted per game, most of them short to midrange pull ups.
so to see him relax and focus on other things aside from jackin up shots, and proceed to fill the rest of his stat line like ballguy posted above me is not just good for him, but it lets other guys step up when there's more ball movement to go around. Usually it's Harden that will get the rest of the shots that Durant and Russ don't take, but in this case we saw Thabo get it in, good for him.
I think in my last post I said something about them putting Thabo on Parker to give Westbrook a rest from running into all the picks from the San Antonio big men, something like Thabo was stronger and can withstand the punishment of that all game long, but damn I did not know he was gangster enough to also dish it out on offense as well, he's a bit better than I thought, that is not easy to be chasing Parker around all game running into picks left and right, then to STILL have the energy to score, sum good ballin right there
I would love to see Skip Bayless humored and have Thunder let Harden run point for a few games next season, would be interesting to see most definitely.

An entertaining game to watch. Miami's defence stepped up in the second half to give the team a chance to win in O.T. Clutch 3 pointer by LeBron to put the game into overtime.
Can somebody please explain to me some of the referees' foul calls on players competing for position near the basket? LeBron gets called for a foul against Pietrus and then fouls out. If I remember correctly, LeBron was tangled up with a different Celtics player, and the referees call a double foul. That double foul looked too close to call.
bballguy

Refs were fucking pathetic; I don't blame the players for flopping because I always say you do whatever it takes to win, but somebody needs to train these refs how to blow the fucking whistle based on what they actually see, not on what they think probably happened....and I say this completely unbiased, as I know that BOTH the Heat and the Celtics have some of the best floppers in the league...
and double foul?? What the fuck is that garbage...Pick a fucking guy who committed a foul first or don't blow your whistle at all...

rondo is a great player, but his attitude and cockyness is annoying as fuk to me.
Norris Cole did a good job yesterday too coming off the bench. He should be getting better min's next game.
It is true that they dont need bosh for the next game, but it will help alot having him play, since KG is eating up the miami post players.

bballbuy, you're right on the ball when it comes to seeing the Miami lapses in defense. ESPN analyst Jeff Van Gundy kept criticizing the Miami transition defence for being sooo slow to go back to defend after scoring a basket. I was literally yelling at my TV "Hustle! Hustle!" at the Heat to match up on defense.
In addition, Boston showed better effort in getting to the loose balls, getting more rebounds that Miami. -remembered seeing the Heat getting less defensive rebounds that the the Celtics.
Game 6 will tell me how much heart, mental toughness the Heat, have inside them. When Miami faces elimination, how do they respond?
The Truth was clutch in the end with the 3 pointer.
Some of the ref's calls, especially in the fourth quarter, were very questionable. Technical foul on Chalmers??? Pietrus was flopping like somebody shot him with a gun. That call was a joke.
I wanna see a game 7! Bring the series home Miami!!

He shootin an ok percentage but also a few pretty plays here and there isn't enough to sway me off criticizing his game. I don't think he's scored over 25 points in this whole series, he's not making his presence felt on the court in this series, except that second half of game 2 where he exploded.
But that's how he should be playing ALL the time, LeBron is droppin 30 a game, but he's doing it casually.
It stresses me out watching these great players trying to orchestrate the schemes of such a small insignificant man that is Spoelstra.... most of the time on the offensive end it literally feels like LeBron and Wade have ball and chain attached to foot with Spoelstra's name on it, fucking LITERALLY !
I've screamed at the top of my lungs a few times this series...
And I ain't even a current Heat fan, because I grew up watching the Heat of Alonzo, Hardaway and Thunder Dan, that's my Heat team right there.... I'm just a fan of good basketball and players playing to their full potential nothing less, I swear I grow a grey hair every time I see LeBron on a pull up jumper against someone he could blow past with one leg...
and I honestly think next season Pat Riley is coming back to coach, they are not firing Spoelstra, he's Riley's whippin boy who's put in too much time with the organization to get fired, plus he has a few years on a new contract anyway

oooh the KG vs Duncan one last showdown sounds very fckin exciting... they're both playing almost like they're 6 or 7 years younger...
on Dan Patrick show the other week DP was talking about them two and mentioned a story that Tim Duncan told him personally how at an all star break few years ago, Timmy was in an elevator with KG alone and KG is just standing there talking smack in Timmy's ear and eventually smack talking turns into KG intensely yelling in Timmy's face cussing him out in all different manners, all the while Tim is just standing there poker faced staring right back at Kevin.
Timmy told Dan Patrick he's "hated" Garnett ever since that day, and a funny quote from a Slam article I read reads
"Asked if perhaps all those years battling Garnett have softened his feelings for the man, led to a Magic-Larry type of kinship, Duncan leans back on the couch in his hotel room and grins. There is a pause. A longer pause. Finally he says, ‘Define kinship’”

The Raptors are said to be interested in dealing their No. 8 pick, along with Jose Calderon (expiring contract) and big man Ed Davis, in exchange for a stud small forward. Davis makes sense for the Sixers, who could use a good, young big man to eventually replace aging Elton Brand.
