Props to Kobe! He's the man. He (though narrowly) deserved that Finals MVP and that championship.

But honestly, I kinda want him to not win next year. If he does another three-peat, people will start saying that he's as good as MJ, or better. Which Fucking makes me sick to my stomach because every time I hear someone or see someone post that Kobe is better, or will be better than Jordan, I just wanna smack that person in the face..... twice.

It's almost like comparing Wayne Gretzky and... Sidney Crosby.

But overall, I wanted Lakers to win against the Celtics tonight. And I was amazed at the defensive battle between the two, and the comeback being down 13 points in the 3rd quarter. Very impressive, and overall this whole post-season was just great to watch! Congrats L.A. Lakers, 2010!

I honestly do think Kobe is better than Jordan. Just like id say Crosby is better than Gretzky.

But if u compare Jordan in his time vs Kobe in his time, Jordan is obviously better.

I will reply to you what I posted a couple months ago:

The fact that they use the phrase "The Michael Jordan of" (for example, "The Michael Jordan of Snowboarding") to express greatness and being the best says a lot already. The same way we would use Wayne Gretzky from Hockey, Michael Schumacher from F1, and Pelé from Soccer/Futbol. Michael Jordan (at least, to me) is the GREATEST OF ALL-TIME. He has every right to be "arrogant". To me, that's just a different way of expressing a form of confidence. If he is the best at what he does, and he has made his own name synonymous with the actual sport and the word "greatness" , why shouldn't he?

Kobe Bryant is also one of the best players to ever hold a basketball. He is also very 'cocky' in his own way, and he also has the right to do so. He lead his team to 4 championships (with help of course. But even Jordan needed help with his 6 championships), and he is currently also the best Laker right now. But he is NOT Jordan. Anyone who compares Jordan with great players such as Kobe Bryant and Lebron James is fighting a lost cause. It's just not right to do. Jordan IS basketball.

Like NBA Legend and former Laker Earvin "Magic" Johnson once said,
"There's Michael Jordan, and then there is the rest of us."

Kobe is great. He's awesome. Don't get me wrong, I'm also a Black Mamba fan. But he is and never will be better than Air Jordan.

Yes he did play pretty well in the playoffs. But keep in mind his performances were just good. Maybe great.

But not Jordan-esque.

*Start rant*

Kobe has extremely poor shot percentages almost every single game. He even shot 6 out of 24 for game 7 of the Finals which ALMOST cost them the title. Yes he did grab 15 rebounds. But honestly, that's just about it for that game. The highest he scored against Boston in the Finals was 38. And that was even a losing effort.

Jordan? That guy shoots well-above 50% in pretty much every single game. He can drop 40 points (even more) against teams in the Playoffs. He even scored 38 whopping points WHILE he had a fever! He even scored the game winning shot! And this was the FINALS, against a behemoth team of the Utah Jazz. They had two hall-of-famers, John Stockton and "The Mailman" Karl Malone. As well as a fantastic supporting cast. That was called the "flu game". Jordan dropped 38 points at his WORST condition. Kobe managed to merely tie that at his BEST.

And championships? IT FUCKING PISSES ME OFF that people say Kobe is only one championship away from tying Jordan, and he still has many years to come.

Well news flash people! Jordan was Finals MVP all 6 times. And He was the league's season MVP 5 out of those 6 times (Karl Malone was MVP for that one season, who Jordan beat in the Finals anyways. Twice) How bout Kobe? He was only Finals MVP twice, and this year he just BARELY deserved it. Keep in mind, during his first three-peat Shaq was averaging 38 points per game during the post-season! As well as 15 boards a game! Kobe was just the sidekick who played a big, but supporting role! Hence Shaq won all three Finals MVP, and earned it by a landslide.

I won’t argue that Lakers had a great supporting cast on all 5 years because Jordan too had terrific back-up, including fellow Hall-of-Famer Scottie Pippen.

Congratulations Kobe, you deserved the championship this year. You fought hard against the Suns and the Celtics (though almost being upset-ted by 8th seeded Oklahoma Thunder). You luckily won game 7 against Boston and narrowly won finals MVP. In all honestly, you sincerely are a superb player.

But please. Everyone, show some respect if you love or watch the game of Basketball and the NBA. Please. Never ever compare Kobe Bryant to Michael Jordan.

MJ is the best there was, the best there is, and the best there ever will be.

Thank you.

*End rant*

This debate gets brought up every 10 or so pages...

I'm not a Kobe fan at all, but I give the guy probs for the career he has had. He is the best player in the league today. To the Lebron lovers out there, win a ring first.

If I had a choice between MJ and Kobe (both in their prime) to take the last shot of the game, I would take Jordan.

WHY?

How many times has Kobe averaged a 50+ FG% in a season??

ZERO!

How many times has Jordan averaged a FG % of 50 or higher in a season?

6 with 3 of them being 53% or higher.

Kobe has extremely poor shot percentages almost every single game. He even shot 6 out of 24 for game 7 of the Finals which ALMOST cost them the title.

Michael Jordan shot for 26.3% in game 6 of the 1996 Finals between the Bulls and the Sonics.

Jordan? That guy shoots well-above 50% in pretty much every single game. He can drop 40 points (even more) against teams in the Playoffs.

Jordan:
1996 Finals - 41% against Sonics over 6 games
1997 Finals - 46% against Jazz over 6 games
1998 Finals - 43% against Jazz over 6 games

Bryant:
2008 Finals - 41% against Celtics over 6 games
2009 Finals - 43% against Magic over 5 games
2010 Finals - 41% against Celtics over 7 games

Kobe has also dropped 40 points (even more ) against teams in the Playoffs.

Keep in mind, during his first three-peat Shaq was averaging 38 points per game during the post-season! As well as 15 boards a game! Kobe was just the sidekick who played a big, but supporting role! Hence Shaq won all three Finals MVP, and earned it by a landslide.

2000 Playoffs: Shaq 31 pts/game 15 rbds/game 28 yrs; Kobe 21 pts/game 22 yrs
2001 Playoffs: Shaq 30 pts/game 15 rbds/game 29 yrs; Kobe 29 pts/game 23 yrs
2002 Playoffs: Shaq 28 pts/game 13 rbds/game 30 yrs; Kobe 27 pts/game 24 yrs

2006 Playoffs: Shaq 18 pts/game 34 yrs (champion); Kobe 27 pts/game 28 yrs (first round exit) Shaq 29 pts/game in first round @ 28 yrs
2007 Playoffs: Kobe 33 pts/game (first round exit) 29 yrs Shaq 27 pts/game in first round @ 29 yrs
2008 Playoffs: Kobe 30 pts/game (lost in the Finals) 30 yrs
2009 Playoffs: Kobe 30 pts/game (won in the Finals) 31 yrs Shaq 27 pts/game (second round exit) 31 yrs
2010 Playoffs: Kobe 29 pts/game (won in the Finals) 32 yrs Shaq 21 pts/game (lost in the Finals) 32 yrs

I don't think Michael and Kobe are equals. What I mean by that is that you can't really compare them. They are players from different era. Kobe entered the league at 18. Michael entered at 21. That's 3 years, and add the 2 years that Michael took off, that will be a total of 5 years. I think it's safe to say that 5 years make a big impact on a athlete's career. So what if Kobe went through the same career timeframe as Michael? Would he be as good? No one knows.

But if one is going to start throwing numbers around and say that Kobe rode Shaq to the 3 peat in LA, I don't think it's a fair comparison. Looking at numbers, Kobe performed just as good as Shaq when comparing them both at the same age.

^LOL That would both work if this is NBA 2K10!

Chicago can only afford 2 MAX contracts (after getting rid of Hinrich)... Miami can sign 3

This is why Chicago makes more sense as it would be a more "complete team" if Bosh/James signs there.

Rose/Deng/James/Bosh/Noah/Miller/Gibson/Warrick..

But IF Miami then that would be OK as well

Chalmers/Wade/James/Bosh/Beasley/Haslem/Richardson

The Chris Bosh era in Toronto may be officially over.

ESPN's NBA contributor Dan LeBatard reports that the Raptors are poised to complete a sign-and-trade deal with Miami that would see Bosh go to the Heat for power forward Michael Beasley, point guard Mario Chalmers and forward Joel Anthony.

According to Lebatard's Twitter message on Wednesday, Bosh and fellow potential free agent Wade share the same agent so there's no tampering involved.

Bosh opted out of the final year of his contract with the Raptors, leaving more than $17 million on the table to join a free agent class that includes Wade and LeBron James.

The seven-year veteran averaged career-highs with 24 points and 10.8 rebounds this year.

However, the Globe and Mail has disputed the initial report, with one source telling the paper, flat-out, "There is no truth to that."

With so few players under contract at the moment -- Beasley and Chalmers are the only two -- the Heat are, according the Globe, reluctant to move out players; preferring, instead, to give the Raptors a trade exception that would amount to nearly $16.5-million.

I like how TSN's title says BOsh's era in Toronto may be done....fuck it was over when the season ended....no way he is going to stay. Only thing left to know is where he's going and what they get in return if anything.

411ken

of all the teams in the running, what team would you like to see lebron in? or let me rephrase, if you were in lebron's position, what team would you pick?

I personally would pick the knicks. Biggest market, legendary arena, be the one remembered that turns this franchise around, will make more money in this market than anywhere else.

I wanna see LeBron with either Bulls/Knicks/Nets/Cavs/Heat. In that order.

And I put the Bulls 1st because he all of a sudden changed his number.
I put the Nets up there as he is very close to JayZ and Co.

REPORT: LEBRON, CAVS WANT BOSH IN CLEVELAND

LeBron James and Chris Bosh could well end up playing together when the NBA free agency dominoes fall later on in the week, but the city they play in could be Cleveland - and not Miami or Chicago.

According to ESPN NBA Insider Chris Broussard, the Toronto Raptors have told the Cavaliers that they would be willing to do a sign-and-trade that would send the power forward to Cleveland.

Broussard speculates that in return, Toronto could get Anderson Varejao and/or J.J. Hickson, along with Delonte West and perhaps Anthony Parker as well as a possible draft pick.

According to Broussard's sources, the Cavs and James are trying to convince Bosh to go to Cleveland as opposed to a bigger U.S. city that Bosh reportedly favours.

The report says that Bosh, however, is cool to the idea of playing in Cleveland. Sources indicate that Bosh would prefer to play with James in Chicago, Miami, or New Jersey.

One possible sticking point for Bosh's potential arrival in Cleveland would be the position the Cavs would want him to play.

Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix is reporting that Bosh is apparently balking at the idea of playing centre and would prefer to remain at the power forward spot. According to Mannix, the Cavaliers would have to guarantee a legit centre would have to be in place before Bosh agrees to anything. This could pose a problem as both players who lined up at the five for the Cavs last season, Shaquille O'Neal and Zydrunas Ilgauskas are up for free agency, while Varejao who has played centre in the past may be involved in any potential deal to acquire Bosh.

Raptors general manager Bryan Colangelo spoke on the issue of using the sign-and-trade to get assets back for Bosh on Monday.

"I would say there are multiple options that could play themselves out and we're prepared for multiple options," Colangelo told the Canadian Press. "But at the end of the day things have to make sense for all sides...that's the part that ultimately needs to be decided.

"He might decide on a franchise and we may participate, we may not and that's kind of where things are."

Anyone else here think that Knicks signing Amare' is good? I personally don't like it as much... why? he is not as good defensively and gets injured and now he is signed for 100million guaranteed...

Amare to the knicks does nothing really. Nash is the one who made Amare look good. Other then his pick and rolls, what else does he have? His low post is pretty good and his outside shot is ok at best but his ppg will drop drastically. Unless they can do alot of pick and rolls plays or the knicks start playing run and gun ball

Chris duhon signed with the Magic. And i doubt tony parker is going to head to NY. Amare is in it for the money; even he know with his injury history he might not have many years left in the league to be considered a star player, obviously he is going for the big guaranteed contract. NY is just too desperate for ANY big name, i just hope amare doesnt turn out like another eddie curry.

The Spurs need to do something and change it up...they already have a pretty good PG in George Hill so Parker can be traded...If he wants to go to NY, why not go for a Sign & Trade?. Lee for Parker

It's official then.. .Bosh and Wade together...

Chris Bosh quote

Now, the ball is clearly in King James' court.

"I expect us to compete for a championship,'' Bosh told ESPN. "I think both Dwyane and I, we both wanted an opportunity where right away we would be competing. ... We're ready to sacrifice a lot of things in order to do that. It's not about the money. It's not about anything else except for winning. I'm a winner. Dwyane's a winner. We're going to bring winning to Miami.''

As much as i want to see James/Wade/Bosh play on one team, i dont think he's gonna go there. If James wants to keep his "King James" status and build a legacy for himself, he will NOT change teams. Guys like Kobe and Jordan (tho he had Pippen with him for the most part) never gave up on their team. I think he should stay with the Cavs cuz that team will go to the shithole if he leaves, and that will be a huge letdown for the city

Miami's is Wade's team, he won a championship there too, no matter how big James is, he can't touch that

But if egos aside, james/wade/bosh starting lineup with pay riley coaching, HOLY SHIT

They can fill the blank with the 3pt shooter...i.e. go try and sign Mike Miller as we all know he can score out there....

Rose - Slasher
Deng- Mid Range
Milller - 3pt
Boozer - Inside scoring
Noah- Rebounds

Amare signed with the knicks for practically a max contract to be the main man in NY

Stating "the knicks are back", Amare thinks hes the missing piece to make the Knicks a winner, which hes not.

He's probably not gonna want another max guy next to him taking the spotlight away.

Unless he puts his ego in check and provided doesn't demand to be traded half way through the 10-11 season due to losing.

You can't win in the post season by just plugging in max players.

That's not up to him, that's up to the team they will try to surround him with until the 11-12 season

that being said its just a personal opinion about Amares situation in NY right now, as no one knows for sure whether Melo and Parker will leave their respective teams to join Amare.

Its almost like the Heat right now, can 3 Star players set aside their ego's and co-exist and win a championship?

The Celtics did it in 08, while obviously the big 3 in Boston had nowhere near the star power that the Heat have now, the Celtics did it with a solid bench and a young star in Rajon Rondo

MJ would have never done this, neither would Kobe. Even Pippen was mad that he didn't get the last shot in the 94' playoffs but Lebron CHOOSING to be the 2nd bana is just fucking disgraceful.

I hope Cleveland will give him a nice applause, it's not liked he played half-assed ala Vince Carter. The fact is, he wants to win a championship, which is what most professional athletes strive for in their respective sports. So far, the Cavs have done nothing to show LBJ a change in their team, except the coaching change. I'm sure there were discussions between the two parties about what the Cavs would do in order to help LBJ win a championship.

I would find it amusing if Shaq finds his way to Miami as well for a lower salary to maybe finish off his career with a championship. If he can prove his relevance. All I know is that 2010/11 season is gonna be awesome.

Jermyzy
07-08-2010, 07:29 PM
They are not guaranteed to win the championship. I think a healthy Lakers team will give them a run, they have more depth. Miami will have to fill their roster with minimum salary players (currently no good shooters). Also, how will their chemistry be like? With the game on the line, will all 3 players demand the ball? When the Boston big three was formed, they were all veteran players who realized what it would take to win, and willing to give up individual stats to win. Not sure if the same can be said with D-wade, Lebron, and Bosh.

Miami is pretty much a lock to win the east now but taking the championship from the lakers in the final will be no easy task. Anyone who thinks that the heat are going to roll over every team should think twice. Basketball is a team game so the 9 other players will have to be factors too. They can't just stand around and pass the ball to the big 3 and expect to win game like that. It's going to be an interesting upcoming season

No the difference is those NBA legends didn't ditch their team to win championships, they build the championship team from where they were from. Like Barkley said, he's only 25... he shouldn't be doing this when he's still so young

history shows that putting 3 superstars together doesn't really mean they'll make it to the finals ~ i like wade and im happy for him but i really would have liked to see LBJ stay with Cavs (already a playoff contender) or join the Bulls (will become a strong playoff contender)

extra little note ~ Mike Miller signed with Heat right when he heard LBJ is joing Heat

Open Letter to Fans from Cavaliers Majority Owner Dan Gilbert
Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

Dan Gilbert

I don't understand how anyone can like the Heat now.

Just the fact that Lebron was gonna do a 1 hr special to announce his pick was a kick in the nuts to Cavs fans everywhere. It was the most unprofessional thing I've ever watched in my life. I was shaking my head when they were showing Lebron in different jerseys. Also, Cleveland fans have suffered enough. I can't believe he chose to build it up like that and choose a different team. What a dick.

Also, Kevin Durant announced his new deal over Twitter. He didn't have a 1 hr special. Matter of fact, no one's ever had a 1 hr special to announce his deal.

Bosh... I don't even know where to start. As soon as he became a free agent, he was on Twitter, saying how he was so excited to choose a new team. He even asked his followers or whatever to choose a team for him. Toronto fans should boo his ass just like they do to Wince.

I still like DWade though.

Anyway, they're gonna be good but they're still gonna be missing some pieces. If they get Mike Miller, I guess that fills their 3 pt shooter slot. They still need a rebounder, a solid interior defender (Come on, Bosh is gonna get killed my Bynum and Gasol), a point guard, and some veteran guys that know their roles. They won't until they fill up the holes with solid role players.

Superstars can't win a championship by themselves.
Kobe and Shaq needed Horry, Fox, Fisher
Boston's big 3 needed Posey, PJ Brown
Even Jordan needed BJ Armstrong, Grant, Paxon, Kerr, Kukoc...

Anyway, I still can't belive Lebron chose to ride shotgun to DWade instead of leading his own team.

/end rant

^ exactly.. that's all everyone is debating about.... as they say...everyone NEVER gave Kobe his credit until the last 2 championship because he was always labelled as the "2nd guy" to shaq...Now that he's won the last 2 championship as the "Main guy" it means more.

What will LBJ say...I'm the best, it took 2 superstars Bosh/Wade to win one.... (I hope I don't hear "Kobe has Gasol" as Gasol isn't as big a name as Wade/Bosh). He could have stayed in Cleveland then signed Boozer or Lee, if they wanted to be like the Lakers.

I'm sure winning the championship is great but yea, I'd have to agree wit Barkley's comments (I rarely agree to his comments)

Lebron is going what Shaq did. Shaq couldn't get it done himeself in Orlando (getting swept by Houston in the finals) so he went to the Lakers and won himself 3 rings. Did it tarnish his legacy? Perhaps only for the first year he was in LA. He wanted to win, and thought LA would help him do that.

lebron just made the move. he hasn't even played 1 game with the new team yet. lets sit back and watch how many (if any) championships the trio can win before we assess anyone's legacy.

Anyways as far as the Big 3 goes, yes Miami is gonna have a tough time finding good supporting players to fill the roster. Yes, Lebron probably should have opted to go to either Chicago, New York, or even stayed in Cleveland.

But I was and always will be a D-Wade fan. I go where this guy goes because I have nothing but respect for him. From all the active NBA players right now, he's definitely my favorite.

Miami will either take it all the way and win the championship if they fill up the team with good supporting players and find chemistry, or fail hard and disappoint without having a strong supporting cast.

They need to find a strong Center, and build up a reliable bench... PRONTO!

I highly doubt D-Fish will leave the Lakers. He will receive soooooo much heat for it (lol play-on-words) from L.A. and he will be forever deemed as a Bandwagon player much like Lebron is right now. Plus I would assume he is genuinely loyal to both Phil Jackson and Kobe.

As for AI, why not. That guy deserves a ring anyways and he worked so hard and came up close. He may be past his prime, but he is still AI and he would provide excellent support as the Heat's point guard.

AI + Shaq wouldn't be too bad. Veterans would only benefit the Heat considering the team is run by 3 very young superstars.

Ray Allen returns to give Celtics reunited Big 3 for another try at NBA title
By Jimmy Golen (CP) – 12 hours ago
WALTHAM, Mass. — If the Miami Heat think they are going to waltz their way to an NBA championship now that they've put Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and LeBron James together, they should pay attention to Ray Allen.
"So much is being pointed to what we did here," Allen said Tuesday after completing his new contract with the Celtics. "But the question is whether they're ready to sacrifice — make the ultimate sacrifice. It's not about numbers. It's not about accolades. When we did this in '07, that's what we all knew and what we all said: It (personal glory) didn't matter.
"The question that was posed to us was, 'Who was going to take the last shot?' We all said, 'The guy who's open.'"
Allen agreed last week to a $20-million, two-year deal with the Celtics that helps the NBA's most-decorated franchise keep together the core that won an unprecedented 17th championship in 2008. Paul Pierce has also agreed to a new deal; it's expected to be signed later this week.
With those two all-stars back and joining Kevin Garnett, who has two years left on his contract, and emerging star Rajon Rondo, the Celtics have a chance to reach the NBA finals for the third time in four years. But to do so, they might have to go through the talents in South Beach.
"We look forward to playing them, for sure," Allen said at the Celtics' training facility. "We feel like we're the better team, like we're the team to beat in the East."
The old theory was that an NBA team needs two stars to win a title — think Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen with the Bulls, or Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal with the Lakers. But the Celtics upped the ante on that when they assembled their new Big Three in the summer of 2007.
Initially, there were doubts that the veteran stars would be able to work together after years of being the go-to guys on separate teams. But the three meshed seamlessly and won the NBA championship in their first year together.
The Heat created their superteam — on paper, at least; they haven't played a game yet — when they re-signed Wade and added James and Bosh.
But Allen said it's not so simple.
"Every year, the team that wins the championship sets the mould," Allen said. "We proved that it could work. But there were so many questions about us when we came in."
Getting Allen, Garnett and Pierce to accept that philosophy turned out to be easier than many suspected, mostly because they were all in their 30s and none of them had won an NBA title. James is 25 and Bosh is 26; Wade, who is 28, was a part of the Heat team that won it all in 2006.
"I got to my 12th year to really understand it," Allen said. "It is a sacrifice, and it takes the understanding to realize it."
In a 14-year career for Milwaukee, Seattle and Boston, Allen is second all-time in three-pointers and fifth among active players with 20,965 points. Allen, who turns 35 next week, averaged 16.3 points last season as the Celtics reached the NBA finals before losing in seven games to the Los Angeles Lakers.
After the NBA finals, Allen said, "It's obvious I don't want to be anywhere else."
Allen said on Tuesday his priorities were family first, winning second and "money was last." He held off enrolling his kids in school while he was making a decision, but he was glad to sign early so they could all relax for the summer.
"They call my jersey 'Daddy Celtics.' This is what they know and that meant a lot," said Allen, who listened to other offers and according to his agent could have gotten more elsewhere. "I'm always willing to do that, but at the same time I'm a loyal person. I know when I've got a great situation and that's what I have here."
Allen said that when he first signed with the Celtics, a woman came up to him at a restaurant and said, "I liked you better with Seattle." He figured she meant that he would have better numbers and be a bigger star with the SuperSonics.
He disagreed.
"I like myself better here," he said, "knowing that we're going to win games; we're going to have a chance to win championships."

I love Iverson, my favorite player since I was a young kid he really deserves a ring.

So does Nash.

It could help them or it could hurt them... first thing that came to my mind is Shaq with the Suns...but we'll see I guess....but I guess, coming off the bench he won't be that bad.

As for Raja might be going to the lakers.. I like it...bringing in some great defenders

are we getting raja?! NICE !!

Sorry but you're just a jealous tool. Contract is over. An athlete has every right in the world to choose where he / she wants to play for. STFU please.

How am I jealous?

I understand he can choose to go where ever he wants to, it's his right. It's just that he had that 1 hr bs special to announce it. That was so stupid, he basically spat in the face of Cleveland. That and the fact that he chose to be Robin instead of Batman.

Anyway, the more I think about them, I think they're gonna win the title. Mike Miller is so perfect for them. The Lakers are probably their best competition but the Lakers just barely beat a 30-something shooting Celtics team without Perkins and badly shooting Ray Ray in game 7.

Let's not write history just yet. It's Wade's team, only by association. We all will find out, who the go to guy is as the season progresses, but more importantly, during the playoffs.

I personally think it won't be Wade #1 and Lebron #2 but more of a 1A and 1B..which could work great.

As for being the favourite......to be the team, you have to beat the team...and this pains me to say it, but the Lakers are the team right now.

I think we can all agree that next season will be fun to watch. For me, I follow NBA throughout the season, but that first big game is usually on Xmas day....I can't wait..
