There absolutely is a rule. A player who has jumped from a spot has a right to land in that same spot. If he does not jump straight up and makes contact with his opponent who has taken a legal guarding position, it is an offensive foul. Moving under a player who is in the air and causing contact is usually an unsportsmanlike foul(dangerous play), and can be a disqualifying foul. a.k.a The Bruce Bowen Rule.

Watching Kobe's shot, I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often. When guys kick out there legs on a shot, I cringe when they land close to the defender's feat.

I ain't the biggest Kobe fan, but his determination has been fun to watch this season and seeing what he's been able to do at his age.

Floaters are usually runners and you are making forward movement....If you are making forward movement, and you are playing in a pick-up game, it's kind of a cheap move, as nobody tries to take 'charges' in pick-up games...In a real game, if you are doing a floater with forward movement, and a guy gets hit in the nuts, you'll most likely get called for the offensive foul...

Cause Kobe wasn't in the game, the final couple minutes flowed much better offensively. There's no selfish ball with Nash(i guess u can say Blake too) able to control the offense, and IIRC, it wasn't just one person who did all the scoring the last three minutes

Kobe in the final minutes, go on the attack with 12 or less seconds on the shot clock and then get doubled and kick it out... or go for hero-ball and shoot when hes triple or double teamed. Everybody is more engaged offensively when Kobe isn't on the floor (moreso the final stretches), that's the truth.

Kobe need rest. He should only come back when they start losing to .500 teams.
He can provide "spiritual support" ;) and be the assistant coach for a while.. like last year

Defensive rotations are better without Kobe there, tape doesn't lie, Kobe this season has taken it easy on the defensive end and gets beat on back cuts and rotations leaving his "man" usually open for a jump shot/cut to the basket. Kobe taking it easy on the defensive end results in him being able to exert more energy on offense with the exception of the few match-ups where Kobe has to actually defend the pg of the other team where Nash would get killed. (Westbrook/Paul/Parker/Irving etc).

The person spoke on condition of anonymity Monday night because the surgery had not yet been announced. Bynum has not played this season because of bone bruises in both of his knees. The 25-year-old is an unrestricted free agent and may never play a game for the Sixers.

Bynum was shut down in training camp as a precaution and the Sixers originally hoped he'd be ready by opening night Oct. 31. Bynum said since training camp he would play this season. But after he experienced swelling in his right knee after a 5-on-5 scrimmage late last month, he acknowledged a return might not be possible.

Bynum was acquired from the Los Angeles Lakers as part of a four-team trade and was expected to make the 76ers contenders in the East.

You think Kobe can consistently and successfully go "beast mode" in a 7 game series? Sometimes he made them but most of the time he miss them because he's so well-defended and he's much older now.

Honestly, I watched about the first 3 minutes of this vid, and it's such a bad vid...all bias aside, it's a really bad vid....Apart from the flagrant calls which should have just been assessed as personal fouls, because they were good, hard playoff fouls, I either couldn't see shit in the vid or I thought the right calls were made...

As for the flopping, I blame the league and the refs for that...Why are refs calling fouls on flops? As a ref, you are supposed to blow your whistle when u see a foul, not when u see someone flop....It's really not that that difficult...That said, more often than not, when these guys were flopping, it was to sell a foul that WAS actually a foul....and as long as refs continue to blow their whistles on flops, I don't see why the players would stop....You do whatever it takes to win...
