I called a month ago, because my bill shot up from 70 to 110,

I was like wtf happend?

their like all your discounts expired, im like how can my discounts expire part way through my term?

their like when you renewed your contract when you bought your iphone, your discounts didnt get renewed.

so im like can you change it back? she's like my supervisor tells me I cant do anything for you,

so I tell them to forward me to retentions, I told the guy all I wanted was for nothing to change, I have no problem signing 3 years just keep my bill the way it was, 70 bucks all in,

the guy agree'd to everything, made all the changes, he said I had to call back on october 22 to get one last change because of my billing cycle or something.

So I call back, and I get a guy who says he cant make those changes for me,

im like wtf? the last guy promised it to me,

he's like, sorry, we cant offer you that good of a deal anymore.

im like dude, i've been a customer with rogers for 10 years, and my bill hasnt changed in 10 years, its always been the same, why do I even hafto call in and negotiate for a price that I already had for the last 10 god damn years?

so eventually my bill came down to 70 a month again, but I have LESS than I did before, I no longer have rogers to rogers, nor do I have early evenings and weekends.

I told the guy I am definitly cancelling when my term is up in august, because its bullshit that rogers raised my price without consulting or letting me know first, then telling me to fuck off after 10 years at the same price, also not honoring the first guys promise.

but since i stil wanna use my iphone, il hafto see if telus or bell can give me a half decent deal, maybe koodoo.

but I am done with rogers, and their lack of respect for me after 10 years of service.

BaoTurbo 11-24-2011 01:54 PM

They don't go back on their promises. Next time get the name or extension numbers so you can back yourself up

How muh is canceling your contract?

If he cancels now, and his contract is up in August...

9x20 voice
9x10 data
$270 total to cancel at this point. (+ taxes)

Bell would probably have the closest to what you're looking for. This is what you can find with Bell right now.
$67/month

-200 day time minutes
-1 GB data (add $10 to get 6gb)
-Call waiting and conference calling
-Call Display
-UNLIMITED text messages, including picture and video messages
-UNLIMITED social networking (Facebook, Twitter and Myspace)
-UNLIMITED local nights and weekends (6pm-7am)
-UNLIMITED national talk time to 10 numbers
-UNLIMITED CANADA TO CANADA LONG DISTANCE across Canada (Air time still applies)

I've been getting calls recently from a random a random 888 area code. Decided to pick it up and it was Rogers' Renewals department calling to see if I was satisfied enough with my bill/service to resign a 3 year contract. They even offered me a $5 credit. I wasn't too enticed so the lady transferred me to Retentions, but the phone call magically ended! Lol.

This one is slightly better:

UNBEATABLE iPhone 4s Share plan (Free INTERNATIONAL Long Distance)

But you need 2 lines......=\

stuff99 11-27-2011 02:18 PM

Rogers basically do not carry any phones that doesn't need data.

Anjew 11-27-2011 03:55 PM

my mom uses mobilicity and she never goes to surrey, whiterock.

Similar thing just happened to my dad, I called retention's for him, he's also been a customer since 2001. His contract expired and the bill shot up, so I called and they cant give him what he ALREADY HAS. He doesn't even need data or anything like that, just a decent cheap plan.

We're basically pissed at Rogers so thinking of switching to Moblicity or Wind since he just needs a phone that works and doesn't want to pay shiet loads on his bill.

Just had this EXACT same phone conversation (cept my bill was 50), but I knew my plan is going to get way more expensive in 2012 when my contract's up.

They basically told me if I don't want to pay double my bill in 2012, then cancel now.

How are Wind/Mobilicity in high density areas with a lot of concrete?

Some of us live/work/play in concrete jungles and the fact that these carriers don't operate with lower frequencies makes switching a risky proposition.

You're absolutely right.

Highly concreted buildings have shotty reception at best with these carriers but when I'm in apartment buildings, my reception is fine.

Graeme S 11-28-2011 06:08 PM

On wind I've got no problems other than in the deepest depths of Costco downtown and the bottom of harbor centre food court. Even in the basement of my place on capitol hill (a place I got spotty reception on Rogers) I get at least half bars, often full

Always ask for a reference number to refer to. That always helps

It is actually free. But only if you are switching to Rogers. ALSO, you cannot switch back to Fido before your Rogers contract ends with the same number without paying the ECF. It's a one time deal with a phone number.

Quote:

As long as you meet the requirements, yes, you can port from Fido to Rogers for free.
-You must have been a customer with Fido for at least 12 months
-You must sign a 3 year contract with Rogers
-You must remain with Rogers for at least 1 month

After you sign with Rogers and are there for a month, then Fido will refund the termination fee. They do charge it and then refund it. If you then leave Rogers you will pay the full termination fee for Rogers. You can only do this one. If you want to switch back to Fido in the future then you must complete your 3 year contract with Rogers or pay the termination fee.

After a failed attempt at working out a deal with rogers retentions, i get a text msg from them a few days later saying
"Rogers svc msg: Please call 1 800 407-2647. We value you and would appreciate another chance to give you a special offer. Some conditions apply."

Im going to assume its a direct line to the retentions line. Can anyone confirm this?

*sorry about that blank post above, mobile is tricky to use

yup that's their direct line.

stuff99 11-30-2011 11:55 AM

I got the worse CSR the other day who flat out lied that retentions no longer exists as a department so I would have to deal with him. He was also rude. I requested to speak to his manager and reported his dumb ass.

I've been a customer with them since 1998 at least.

stuff99 12-01-2011 05:21 PM

Is there any truth to this $30 for 6GB LTE plan?

When I called in, they couldn't find this proposed plan.

Anyone try getting this: Rogers offering free Canadian long distance to new customers in Alberta and British Columbia | MobileSyrup.com

shenmecar 12-02-2011 07:18 AM

Wonder if that's valid for existing customers.......
