Yeah, I'm eligible for an upgrade to the Bold 9900 (as long as I can find one; apparently Rogers is sold out.) They have some kind of $50 credit right now, but I'd still have to pay the $35 admin fee.

I wouldn't mind a few extra daytime minutes, or unlimited network calling. I've called twice in the past week, so I wonder now if I need to chill out and call a couple of months down the road?

i have been a customer since 2000 with Rogers and i'm on their business plan side. For those of you who are working for a big company, you should tell them who you work for. I got 30% off my bill since my company is recognized as one of their high volume customer.

I started with Rogers on a corporate plan in 2004. When I finally got a smartphone in 2008, their corporate plans for data were not as cheap as what I was offered.

It would be helpful for people who are on corporate plans to post what they've been offered. Considering whom I work for, I imagine my corporate offering would be one of the best.

wtf. i called the other day and i got a $35 voiceplan, unlimited weekevening/weekend after 6, my 10, 150 mins plus 100 bonus minutes & 100 bonus business minutes (so 350 mins in total) and unlimited sms & mms. on top of that i got 6gb of data for $30 & voicemail/caller id for $12. and a $10 monthly credit.. i'm paying 78/79$ a month atm....

Sorry, dunno what MMS is.........

I should clarify that the unlimited text is from the $20 Add-on Value Pack they have on their website. http://www.rogers.com/web/content/add-ons/valuepacks

The choice I picked was "Unlimited Text/Picture/Video Messages"

Graeme S 08-27-2011 01:01 PM

MMS is basically picture messaging. "Multimedia Messaging Service".

sorry if this has been answered before but currently, is the HUP at 24 months or 30 months? the answers im getting on google seem to be hovering on both.

$35 Unlimited Voice Plan 35.00
Savings: Monthly Fee Discount -5.00
6GB BlackBerry Service 30.00
Value Pack* 10.00
Tethering Access 0.00
Gov't Regulatory Recovery Fee 2.35
Call Forwarding/Call Transfer 3.00
Savings: Call Forwarding/Transfer -3.00
---
$65 + GRRF + Tax

What's weird is that I'm on an iPhone 4 but still have the BB 6GB pack and everything works fine.

I wonder if it's even worth it to call in and get credits as I only use <150MB a month.

JKam 09-10-2011 08:04 AM

sucks.. my gf trying to do a HUP without a data plan and they won't give us a smartphone :( I'm limited to shitty phones now.

Has anyone done a HUP to get a smartphone without a data plan?

All of the companies require you to get a data plan if you want a smart phone. Unless you buy it at full price.
Your best bet is to buy a smart phone from here or craigslist if you don't want a data plan.

I am paying about the same with the voicemail bundle with 2500 texts.

If you don't want/need data, then just add data, buy phone @ 3yr contract price, cancel data ($100 iirc).

I could be wrong but I recall reading something like iPhone's require 30 months while other phones upgrades could be done after 24 months.

I think, now, they make you keep the data plan for at least 5 (?) months before you could cancel it.

Not really a retentions thing, but it is related to Rogers

I bought my iphone 4 last year from the Rogers store at Oakridge pretty much when it first came out. The manager selling me the phone introduced me to their extended warranty. Basically I have to pay $89.99(warranty price) + $40 (liquid and physical damage add on). He explained to me that if I break the phone, that I could come in and he'd give me a brand new one right away. Fast foward 1 year, whoop dee doo I break my phone last night. So I'm thinking yay I get a new phone after all this wear and tear. I go into Oakridge Rogers this morning, talk to one of the representatives there, and he tells me that I need to pay a $150 deductible + WAIT 2-3 WEEKS so they can approve it and get me a new one. When the manager sold me the phone NEVER did he mention I had to pay any deductible (I would NEVER PAY $300 for a freaking warranty, I know I can get it off craigslist easily). So I look over my contract and NO WHERE on it does it even mention I need to pay a deductible. SO this cocky representative says "OH It SHOULD be on there". He doesn't see anything mentioning a deductible, so he goes over to his computer, and prints off a new receipt for me where it DOES say I have to pay a deductible. Well WTF I have the original receipt right here does it fucking matter what it says on the computer? The original is what I SIGNED for.

Anyways sorry for the rant guys, pretty choked right now as it seems like I basically got scammed. Im planning to go in on Tuesday to talk to the manager himself when he is working. Anyone experience this problem before? If so what did you do? Im kinda stuck now since I've already paid $130...

Wow....I hate when store employees/managers BS what the warranty actually covers. I think you got a legitimate case if your original contract does not say anything about a deductible needed. I would not pay a dime and tell the manager that your original contact in hand you have that you signed does not say anything about it and tell him thats the "legal contract"...not what the employee prints off.

I'm a hard ass though and would not let this go until its covered even if that means I talk to Regional Manager but I have had similar stuff happen to me and most times that is how things get resolved to my satisfaction. Goodluck though.

Quick question. My contract is over in jan and i'm waiting on the iphone 5 this oct. This is my current plan. Looking to upgrade to the iphone 5 and get a better plan. Is this doable?

17.50 Epp plan - 200 mins, free weekends and evening @ 6PM
30.00 Iphone smart pack - 500mb data, 10,000 texts, visual voicemail, caller id
after taxes and everything it's 61.82 a month

looking to get any one of these or a combination: free rogers 2 rogers, free incoming, unlimited picture messages, 100 long distance minutes, and maybe the upgrade to the 6 gig data plan even though I dont go over my data at all. Some credits or discounts would be good as well.

Any insight if getting any of these is possible? I heard that rogers has become very strict lately.

i've probably signed over 3 contracts over the past 10 years with rogers
i'm looking to get the GSII LTE
do I MUST sign a contract with LTE in order to get the phone?
Also it's been announced as $200/3 year plan...do they ever give out their 3 year plan pricing for 2 year plans for old old customers like myself?

BrRsn 09-30-2011 08:11 PM

BAH .. rogers why you gotta play me .. called to cancel some of my services, and the woman @ rogers started telling me about the Canada Wide My10 plan,

Spoiler!

I want the $35/month my 10 plan + 1 gig of data for under $65month after tax. What are the chances of me getting a $10credit or a $15credit per month? I was gonna talk to customer relations but they were closed.
